A step forward is recognizing the behavior and not letting it get in the
way of your many successes.
Next time, leave the B&J at the grocery store. Try the individually
wrapped treats instead.

Thanks. Good idea. :) In the past I would have just given in at this point.
But I keep telling myself that it's over, I took ownership of it and it
won't make me gain back 40 lbs. So let's just carry on strong from here.

Joe, I've fallen a thousand times since I've started. The only thing
that means is that I know a thousand ways to get back on track. And
one swallow, even of Ben and Jerry's, will not a fat summer make.

Well, in my opinion, the best thing to do is just pick yourself up and get
back on the wagon, so to speak. This will not be the last time you succumb,
I guarantee it. What will make the biggest difference is the recovery
time - will you wallow in self-pity, or will you rid your cupboards of
further pitfalls, add a bit of extra exercise in this week, and put it
behind you?
What was that stuff doing in the house anyways? Best to get rid of all
those "trigger" foods. For me, it's not ice cream, but homemade baked
goods. SO, I have to limit how often I bake, and how much I bake.

It is far behind me now. I am back on track.

I saw it in the store on sale and I passed it by only to turn around and
grab it anyway. My house been pretty sanitized though so I am ok their. :)

Yes, the ice cream won't make you a failure... the only thing that can
do that is if you don't get right back on the wagon.
My pitfall lately has been chocolate. Hubby had to give me some for
Mother's Day, being that I am the mom of his three kittens, LOL!
I downed two bars the first two days. (I love dark chocolate!) But now
I'm back to just a square a day *IF* I want it. So far, so good today,
no chocolate craving at all.
As the good stuff (85% cacao) does have some health benefits, I just
can't quite make myself toss it.

Yeah, baked goods would do me in! I did bake some low-carb bread last
week, and we will probably have a slice with dinner. (Dinner will be a
low carb stuffed cabbage soup... in the crockpot now.) It helps that I
keep it frozen and in the basement freezer. Out of sight, out of mind!

Friend, these things happen to the best of us.

Do or do not. There is no try.

You need to just forget about it and move on. Slip-ups happen -- and
you'll probably have another now and again; the key is to put it aside
and not beat yourself up, but just get right back to your new
lifestyle.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. I appreciate the support and am
full steam ahead again!
