Hi,

Has anyone had experience with the "Herbal One" products ? I'm looking for
weight loss pills that *do not* have a laxative effect (or contain such
ingredients).. Most of the commonly available pills seem to be glorified
laxatives designed to "purge" the fat from your body (these type of pills do
not agree with me at all).

I'm looking for something to inrease metabolism mainly.. (ie. something that
helps burn off the fat instead of simply purging it as waste)..

Any suggestions/reccomendations are more than welcome..

Back in the days, it was Amphetemine.  Then after that became hard to
get, was the stack of asprin, ephedrine, caffine.  Never did either so
don't know how they work.  Exercise seems safer and better for you.

Hi Chris, I've heard a few positive comments about Proactol:

Proactol™ is a patented fibre complex that is a 100% natural, 100%
organic fat binder made from the nutritious cactus "Opuntia ficus-
indica".

Proactol™ natural fibre, complex consists of two fibres a non-soluble
fibre and a soluble fibre that both work in different ways to help you
manage you weight and improve your overall health.

You can find out more about it here>>>  http://track.lativio.com/hit.php?w=109417&p=2&s=38

Hope this helps!!

Boosting your metabolism is easy. Eat 5-6 smalls a day. Drink your fill of
water and have three servings of green tea day. The green tea will boost
your metabolism by 1-2% for about two hours after drinking it. A good long
walk or exercise routine will boost your metabolism also.

Thanks people, I should've specified I'm looking for something without
caffiene or a lot of fibre, etc.. (already take a lot of fibre daily as part
of a medical condition, so the extra fibre or laxatives and caffiene don't
agree with my system).

The most promising "metabolism booster" that isn't some sort of super
expensive over-hyped garbage is EGCG - the stuff in green tea.  Drinking
green tea itself is not concentrated enough to yield much difference.
Still, with daily intake of the right dosage of EGCG still only gets you
about a 5% increase in your metabolism.  It doesn't cause any of the jitters
of caffeine though.

Like others have said, there are much better ways to increase your
metabolism significantly - several small meals per day, plenty of fiber and
complex carbs, plenty of water, and daily exercise.  All of this will change
your metabolism.

Thanks, I'll check it out..

Lots of strenuous exercise (or at least anything involving crunches, situps,
or anything abdominal) isn't possible. I'm kinda limited to
walking/treadmill, etc..  this makes it a little harder..

doesn't have to be "lots" or "strenuous", just consistant.

Most all of the sites I visited on the Internet had the same general
feel.
It seems that most people really do not think it is not a good idea to
take diet pills.
You find the same warnings and chitchat all around the web.
It seems most people consider the good old-fashioned methods of losing
weight the better way to go.

The others push diet pills, patches and potions promising miracles to
tempt you to part with you hard earned cash. They show you documented
"scientific" proof. They even have the endorsements by medical and
scientific "experts" to back up their claims. You know that you must
think logically and think deeper before proceeding but the urge to
make your life situation better just makes you want to put the money
down and hope for the best.

One other available option to jump into proof-pills is to go herbal.

Herbal weight loss products have been in great demand for people who
want to lose weight the natural way. However, when you take herbal
supplements to lose weight, you would have to wait for a longer time
for the results because of the more subtle effects of medicines which
came from plants and natural herbs.

> Senna.

This is an herbal laxative. Senna is a main ingredient in weight loss
teas, and it works by stimulation the colon. The downside effect of
this herb is dehydration. It can also lead to colon problems and can
become addictive. Some people, when addicted, are unable to perform
bowel movements without it, so watch out.

> Chromium picolinate.

This is a synthetic compound found in herbal weight loss products.
Chromium is a nutrient which helps regulate blood-sugar level.
However, this ingredient, when taken in high doses, may cause damage
in the chromosomes. It can also lead to dehydration.

> Green Tea.

Studies show that intake of green tea, or green tea extracts burns
extra calories. Also, green tea with caffeine can increase fat burning
by up to 40% thereby reducing fat.

> Caffeine.

Coffee provides an energy boost to increase fat burning. Caffeine also
provides a likelihood to be active, which in turn increases your rate
of calorie burn.

> Gymnostemna Pentaphyllum, is known to have the following benefits:

- increases healthy blood flow > reduces artery blocks > aids healthy
blood pressure > increases the rate of fat burning

> Apple Cider Vinegar

Don't forget to jump into a good diet and a good cardio-training
workout.
