For loosing one pound of weight we need to cut 3500 calories. So fo
loosing a pound of weight per week, we
should eat 500 calories less than what our body burns per day. Simpl
logic. Isn't it?
Now the question which comes is " How many calories we should bur
every day?".
Our bodies burn lot of calories even when we sleep and when we move
More the aerobic exercise, more
calories we burn.
One important step is to use a chart that lists basal calorie rates
This chart will enable you to know how many
calories you tend to burn depending upon your height, body type, gende
and work-out levels.
For a woman of medium frame and 5'5 height, the average calorie burnin
is 1600 and 2000 per day depending
on activities. If we guess it to be 1800 calories per day, the simpl
math says that for losing a pound a week,
500 calories needs to be cut down. In simple words, stick to the die
of 1300 calories per day.
The study reveals that long run gives better success. If you try t
reduce it faster, you get tired and stressed.
Now you can choose your favorite diet but remember to limit it to the
total calories you burn less 500) calories.
All best,
Heather

That's the math all right. A person serious about losing weight and
maintaining their correct weight needs to count calories.....and STOP
EATING when they reach their daily allotment of calories. To take the
math one step further, it is possible to determine exactly what your
caloric needs are so you don't have to guess. If you are neither
gaining or losing weight, then your daily caloric need exactly match
your calories spent, so that's easy. If you gain a pound a week you
are eating 3500 cal per week too much. After losing a lot of weight, a
person should refigure. Why? Because you burn fewer calories at the
lower weight and unfortunately get to eat fewer calories to maintain
that lighter weight than you did to maintain your heavier weight. It
also changes with activity level and just a little with age as well, I
agree that 1800 cal per day is a good place to start for most people
if they don't know their caloric needs. dkw
