5 Tips on How To Stick To Your Exercise Routine

1. Tell everyone you know that you're going to start exercising.

You'll feel ashamed if people ask you how your exercise is going and
you have to tell them you skimped. If you tell everyone you're going
to exercise, they'll unconsciously be watching you to see if your body
has improved. And people will comment you when they notice that
receding waistline, making you feel good about your exercise.

2. Hit the gym and stick to your routine, even if you think you're
tired that day. The exercise will make you feel much better. Working
out will actually give you MORE energy when you're done.

3. Find a place close to home. If your gym is too far away, you'll be
able to use the distance as an excuse for not working out.

4. Work out in the morning. Get out of bed a little earlier and get
your workout done first. Otherwise, a lot of people will just get so
busy during the day that they forget or neglect their routine.

5. Set a regular schedule. Make it a habit. Work out on the same days
and at the same times. If you can stick to it, after a while, you will
feel weird and uncomfortable when you skip a workout.

I think you failed to mention the best tip of all.....pick a type of
exercise you enjoy and you're more likely to stick with it!

I have to force myself to go to the gym but I'm willing to jump on the bike
and ride for miles at a moments notice:)

That's a good point..

what I do is that I have a "base work out" which is cardio and weights at
the gym...

and I have the "extras" which are the walks, the dog play session, the
swimming, whatever strike me as fun.. that way if I get lazy I have my "base
work out" and if I
feel motivated I get to do all sorts of cool stuff
