Fat Chick - 02 Aug 2007 00:47 GMT
I started a new blog about my struggle to lose weight. I am doing this
to try and get support and suggestions. Also to make myself
accountable for my binges and bad eating. I am desperate to lose the
last 16 pounds of baby weight. Please stop by and lend some support.

I took a look at your blog. My suggestion may seem like criticism, but its
not meant to be. It seems you have no control over the foods you eat, and no
way of knowing whether you are eating too little or two much. You need to
put yourself on a program that works, be that calorie counting, carb
counting, portion control or whatever. So step one is to educate yourself
and pick a plan.

I took a look at your blog.  Yes, there are ways to fit candy, chocolate,
carbs and junk food into a healthy diet.  I call it the 80/20 diet.  I am
very good 80% of the time, and I plan for and allow splurges.  Because of my
"addiction" or weakness when it comes to certain foods, I have learned a
couple things.  I do not keep those trigger foods in the house AT ALL.
Potato chips, baked goods, certain ice cream, etc, just never find their way
into my cupboard, so I never manage to eat them.  When I do make a baked
good, I make a small batch of something designed to give each person in the
household one serving with no leftovers.  If I want ice cream, I go to the
local Ben and Jerry's and get ONE SCOOP.  I have no self-restraint when it
comes to certain foods.

I eat pretty strictly 5 days of the week.  I usually have one "free day" on
the weekend, but it's not a binge-fest.  I have a nice dinner out with an
appetizer split with hubby, probably a mixed drink of some sort, a good
dinner, and we'll split a dessert.  Sometimes we even split the dinner,
portions are so large these days.

Exercise is critical.  I don't care how you do it.
