Did my usual gym stuff this morning, then swam a couple of laps in the
gym pool (as it wasn't suitable outdoor pool weather today), then went
in the hot tub, sauna, & steam room briefly (for my back, which isn't
quite recovered from whatever I did to it on the trip). I'm figuring
I'd like to try to do a little swimming at the gym after our country
club pool closes in a few weeks. I need to work on getting used to
swimming in lanes, which is especially weird when you're sharing the
lane with another person or two, which is considered acceptable. I
have some claustrophobia issues and didn't like it too much. But I'll
work on it. I also need to figure out how to fit eating into my
schedule somewhere -- not just go from lifting to yoga to swimming
before I have lunch.
Food:
* 7:30 (home): oatmeal w/ peanut butter, flax seed, & dates
* 10:45 (gym, between lifting & yoga): 2 50-calorie cheddar flavored
rice cake snack packs (gym free samples)
* 1:30 (driving from gym to grocery store): another 50-calorie rice
cake pack
* 2:15 (home): turkey breast burger on whole wheat bun w/ 3 slices f/f
cheese, dill pickle, & catsup
* 7:00 (home): jumbo shrimp (~6 oz) grilled on skewers w/ cherry
tomatoes & mushroom caps; 1 glass wine (Vidal Blanc)
Exercise:
* 10:00: Lifitng: machine-assisted pull-ups; wide-grip lat pulldowns;
bent-over DB rows; DB bench press; incline DB bench press; lying
overhead DB triceps extensions; standing barbell curls; standing
barbell overhead press
* 11:00: 75-minute yoga class
* 12:30: swimming: 8 lengths -- 200 meters
