The 2 classes I took yesterday about killed me. I could barely walk
today from being so sore from every single muscle in my body being
worked to death. But it was nice to know I definitely got a good
workout. But due to the pain, I didn't go to the gym today. It was a
rest day.

Food:

Breakfast: 7:00       South beach diet bar.  water   140 cal

Snack:9:00             15 wheat thins. water        120 cal.

Lunch: 1:00             2 pieces of pizza, half a soft pretzel and a
small salad. diet coke        600 cal

Dinner: 7:00             spaghetti with marinara, small salad with
almonds and raspberry vinigarette.   water      400 cal.

total cal:   1,260

This is a reasonable calorie level, but your day looks awfully short
on protein.  It would have been better to put that marinara sauce on a
chicken breast rather than on spaghetti :-).

Whoops, I should have mentioned before that I am vegetarian. I'm sure
I don't get as much protein as I should, based on this fact, but I
still east seafood, so I do get some.

What kind of vegetarian eats seafood?  Fish are animals.  Lobsters are
animals.  They are killed before you eat them.

Whoa, you're very literal. Ok then, I'm a pescan.

Thanks for reminding me.

shau: there's a product called nutritional yeast flakes and power. It
is very high in complete B vits
that help combine aminos from diff sources. It is great on almost any
pasta, soup, pizza, toast,
buttered rice, potato chips etc Vegs get complete protein outfoxing
neg effects of our love of junk food.
Spare me the blurbs i'm not addressing vegans here. Putting brown rice
on your vanilla ice cream
makes more complete protein chains, resulting in less mucous, often
the result of unmatched
protein and carbohydrate. When it says whole grain check to see /
percentage, sometimes
its caramel colored white bread, with a 2% sprinkle of wheat germ.
Pepperage Farm' Whole
Grain gets a good rating fr Nutrition Action's review of REAL WHOLE
GRAIN breads.
There are only a few. We eat ice cream with corn chips and you can
taste the protein combining
your mouth. Tofu, like meat, is tasteless until you flavor it, or
enrich the subtlty of its own flavor
with butter, sesame oil, and spices. The alternative milk is a
combination of soy and-
rice or oat or barley milks, hmmm with barley malt and sugar. Blends
well w/ icecream and fruit.
Hope im getting you hungry let's lose another veg to poor commercial
offers for
people who want to eat for a healthier self and planet.

Sorry; I didn't realize that.  It seems to me that many people who are
vegetarians eat a lot of crap (by which I mean empty carbs -- bread,
sweets, chips, fries, etc.) instead of making the effort needed to
find healthy protein sources (which is certainly more challenging for
a vegetarian).  If you're a vegetarian, I'd expect to see more veggies
in your diet :-).  You need to add more legumes, soy products, low-fat
dairy, and such.  And nuts are good, but you need more than just a
salad garnish to make a difference.

I completely agree with you on that vegetarians eat a lot of junk
food. Lots of people will say, "Well, you HAVE to eat healthy since
you're vegetarian." and I'm like, "Don't kid yourself. Lots of
vegetarians eat a lot of junk. Lots of junk food and carbs."  I was
definitely in this category for a long time. I do need to eat more of
the healthy things you mentioned. What are legumes?  Out of the things
you mentioned, I eat more low-fat dairy than anything.

Legumes are things like beans, peas, & lentils.  They are much better
protein sources than most other types of veggies.
