I use instant oatmeal -- just throw all the stuff in and microwave it,
and the peanut butter melts in the process. I use Quaker Weight
Control oatmeal, which has added fiber. It's pre-flavored (comes in
three varieties), but I add a little extra splenda. I buy ground flax
seed, and use roughly a heaping teaspoon of natural chunky peanut
butter (just scoop up a spoonful -- comes out to a bit under an
ounce). Everything gets cooked together -- takes just a couple of
minutes. I like this very much and it's extremely filling (and a fair
number of calories, but not too much for a breakfast).

Wine is a major interest/hobby of mine, so it's important to me to
include it. I'd rather make room in my diet for wine than for
dessert, in general. Others' mileage may vary :-). I drank wine
during the entire time I was losing weight as well, though not daily
-- usually just a couple of times a week. I've gotten into the daily
wine more since I retired, as I have more leisurely evenings.
{Seriously, I'm fortunate in that I don't seem to have the tendency to
become addicted to it. Every now and again I'll go without it for a
week or so and that doesn't bother me at all.}
