New York is trying to pass a law requiring calories be listed next to food
items on boards at fast food joints, and on menus.
First version of the law was thrown out by a court. They are writing a new
one.
Restaurants are fighting it. Ruby Tuesday tried it voluntarily and their
sales dropped 15%, so they went back to regular menus.

They gonna have calorie inspectors that will fine businesses that serve
an incorrect amount of food? Sorry, you didn't put enough ice in that
coke. It had 150 calories instead of 120. That will be $500. And that
slice of turkey was too thick. And we analyzed the mashed potatoes. Way
too much butter.
Or are they going to just rely on folks suing and demanding damages, like
acessability regs in California?
