Day 3 of 100 Day Diet
250/246/200
I got on my scales this morning and saw that another pound was gone,
so on Day 3, 4 pounds are gone. I'm sure it's mostly water, but it's
fun seeing it go away. And also, getting rid of water is good.
Still then, I'm checking large amounts of water, coffee, diet
carbonated water, etc.
I had about 1400 calories yesterday--more than I wanted but I will get
it down to 1000 today, or at least hope to. I exercised about 200
calories worth yesterday and, as I did not go too far last night and
walking, the stiffness is less.
Or you will one of the quotes I like is this: "The perfect is the
enemy of the good." So therefore, if I try to be utterly, utterly
perfect, I will never even achieve a good standard.
Another quote is that by Lee Iacocca, "So what do we do? Anything.
Something. So long as we just don't sit there. If we screw it up,
start over. Try something else. If we wait until we've satisfied all
the uncertainties, it may be too late."
The bottom line equation is this – few enough calories in for a long
enough period of time and the weight will come off. Exercise helps and
it helps for a variety of reasons.
I know that I'm just getting started on this thing, but in 97 days, I
will be a lot lighter than I am now. All I have to do was keep at it,
and not go off my basic approach.
It always strikes me that it's far too easy to listen to the last bit
of advice, perhaps from the television set, from a magazine, etc., and
so stray off an approach that is working for one. I intend to continue
with my approach for the next 98 days and not deviate greatly from the
basic guidelines.
Either way daily might balance-beam scale, and the indicator only goes
down. With 1000 calorie a day diet, I know that the indicator will be
going down sooner or later. I'm not interested in how much weight I've
gained through roughage in my sc system, extra water, etc. In this
way, every time I get on the scales there is a potential for weight
loss and there is no potential for discouraging news.
I hope everyone has a system and sticks with it! If you are wondering
what to try, why not find something that has worked for you in the
past?
All we have to do is to be “good enough for long enough.”
I hope that everybody meets their health goals!
Yours,
Caleb

End of Day 3 of 100 Day Diet
I just came back from my 42 minute walk. 10 pound weights on each
ankle and pumping 8 pound weights in each hand up and down. Heavy
perspiration by the time I reached home. Great exercise!
Today at about 1100 calories. Better than yesterday made up for some
of the mild excess of yesterday.
I slept much better last night than I did two nights ago. So all I
have to do is keep doing what I'm doing and by the time Thanksgiving
comes, I will be much, much healthier than now!
I hope that everyone will find that here too an exercise and health
program that works for them.
Yours,
Caleb
