A simple technique worked.

Put down the fork and get some exercise?  But of course, what would be
the point in spamming that?

Exercise is a lousy fundamental technique.  It's great for you, but as
far as actually losing weight, it's much less effective than cutting a
few hundred calories every day.

Agreed.  Putting down the fork is the important step.

I'm sorry, I'm getting confused here. Are we losing weight for health
reasons, or for vanity's sake? Too many people are sucked into the
media images of what we are supposed to look like. No matter how hard we
try, most of us aren't going to look like Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt.
We all have to look like something. We look like we look. Get over it.
The packaging attracts, for sure, but it's the contents that keeps them
coming back.

In the mean time, the most important thing is to be healthy.

Active Fat People Are Healthier than Sedentary Thin People
Studies often find correlations between high body weight and various
diseases, both chronic and fatal. However, when researchers take
physical activity into account, it becomes obvious that it is not body
fat that is the problem; rather, it is inactivity.
