Like a taffy or red licorice. One that is truly low calorie.
Any thoughts?

Why?
Do you need the energy boost from the sugar? I drink coffee or take 1/2
a vivarin tablet or go take a nap if I'm tired.
Do you like the mouth feel of candy and entertain yourself by having
good tastes on your tongue all day long? How's that habit working out
for you? I did that and it made me fat. Now I choose other forms of
entertainment.
Are you hungry and need some portable calories? Why not choose a better
calorie allocation. I eat a planned snack mid-afternoon and eat a
smaller breakfast and lunch and dinner to make room for four
meals/snacks a day. (In fact, it's time for my snack now.)

What I will suggest is not candy, but relatively low calorie, high
fiber and all around decent somewhat sweet food. Try blueberries.

Candy can be made sugar free, but it can't be made low calorie.
It is too much like asking for low calorie butter. Not gonna
happen. Try distracting yourself with something else that
really is low calorie.

Get Viactiv calcium chews! They are 20 calories each and taste great. You
can trick yourself into having an indulgence and you know you won't binge on
calcium...
