Just a quickie -- it's been a long day:

The meet went quite well.  I was over-nervous, as always, and didn't
sleep as well as I might have.  It really helped to drive down with
Elise and her son Stuart, though: having someone to talk with and have
dinner with helped me relax a bit.  But I'm happy with how I did.  I
made two of my three snatch attempts.  My best snatch -- 25kg --
equaled my best gym lift and my best at the meet 3 weeks ago.  I made
all three of my clean & jerk attempts, and my third one -- 40kg --
improved on my previous best by 2.5.  I won my age/weight class, as
did Elise and Stuart, who both did well also.  Stuart particularly
impressed us with a personal best 42.5kg clean & jerk.  In the lifting
community we talk about "gym lifters" (those who do their best lifts
training in the gym) and "meet lifters" (those who do their best in
competition).  Unlike Elise and me, I think Stuart is definitely gonna
be a meet lifter!

BTW, I weighed in at 155 lbs.  This is lower than I really should be
trying to compete at right now.  I'm not sure the scale was too
accurate, as I was 157 yesterday in the gym.  I'll count the 155 for
this week's weight, but I expect to go up, as I'm having a refeed
weekend.

Congrats.  All my days are long ones these days and I don't have much
energy for replying, but I'm lurking and glad to hear your news.
