My dog will be ten in a few days. Except for a few illnesses at the vet
she has only been away from me overnight twice and once was last night
as I had dental surgery a few days ago and have been in some
discomfort. Although I needed the solitude, there was big vacuum. I
only hope I remain sufficiently fit to always have a dog.
I hope when you have grieved sufficiently for Bunky you will be getting
another kitten martha. My deepest sympathies.

My cat has been missing since Friday. He is known as Sam the psycho cat.
Once, he bit me and I almost lost my thumb but I still love him. Everynight
at about four o'clock, he will come into my bedroom and go through a bizarre
ritual in which he ends up curled up with me. He cannot be touched below
his neck except to massage his feet. He also likes his gums massaged. He
owns the Hassock in the living room and will fight to defend it if he is
there. Alas, he has never been gone so long before. I do so hope he comes
home soon. I like to think he is just visiting someone.

Oh, I hope he comes home soon too. We've had cats stay away longer
than that and then come home. It's scary, though. Fortunately, our
guys currently all seem to be staying close to home.

Our black cat, Angelo Biscotti, aka Biscuit, stayed gone for over a month.
We figure someone "took him in" and he had to escape to return to us but
return he did. I hope that your Sam is just staying out because he wants
to!

he does sound like a psycho cat. :-)
I do hope he's off visiting someone. Cynthia has a good story about
her cat that went missing for a while then came back. So, Here's
hoping Sam will return to you soon.
