Its been seven weeks since I began my diet, and I'm happy to say I've lost
22.1 pounds so far!
Thank you all here on ASD for your encouragement - I don't think I could
have done it without you! I like to think of you all as holding me
accountable and that really helps. I don't want to check in next week with
a gain!
I've had easy days and hard days (yesterday was hard) but all-in-all its
very exciting and doable for me. I can't do much exercise yet so I'm just
concentrating on controlling what I eat for now, and hope I can start being
more active when I drop more weight. I've tried, but right now my back,
knee and foot problems keep me from any king of regular exercise. I was
using a recumbent exercycle for awhile but the arthritis in my knees flared
up so that I couldn't continue. I can't take NSAIDs for the arthritis
because of my blood medicine. I really am a mess!
Still haven't cracked the obese/overweight barrier, I need to be under 240
for that goal, but I'm hoping in another three weeks or so I'll be there.
If I stay busy, control my cravings, and don't retain water I might make it!
Thanks again to all of you here. You really help!

Hello Dewolla,
Wow I'm so proud of you. You're doing great with an average of more than
three pounds per week. You take your time till you feel you can start
exercising. Just to let you know, if you can start walking you can burn
about a hundred calories per mile if you can walk a little briskly. Having
a back, knee and feet problems can really be a bummer. I deal with feet and
knee daily, and when I started exercising my back killed me. But if you
continue you're back will get stronger and the pain should go away unless
something is wrong with it.
You're doing great and will leave that obese range soon. Just keep doing
what your doing. It's great that your losing without exercise too.
Take care,
Paul

Thanks so much for the encouragement, Paul! You're so far ahead of me on
the weight loss but it gives me hope! I found some old medical records of
mine from the 1970's and my weight was between 155-160 then, I was in my mid
twenties. Oh to be back down to that weight again!
My goal for my current diet is to be down to 199 by December 31st of this
year. Maybe then I'll set a new goal to match my 1970's weight!

Congratulations on your great progress Dewolla. You're losing at a
good rate and sound really determined. I'm sure you'll crack the 240
barrier soon.

you're doing great, janice! It's wise to ease into exervcise when
you're ready. Injuring yourself by trying too much too soon won't do
you any good.

Oh, thank you for the kind words. Its like having my own pep rally! Yay!
I think I'm getting to the point where I need new clothes, everything I'm
wearing now seems to be baggy and near falling off! I'd put away some
smaller clothing years ago, need to dig them out now and see what I have.
