Hi,  I've just recently started to count carbs and calories and try to cut
down on both along with exercise in order to try and loose 70 lbs.  I was
wondering how many carbs do you normally consume.

You need at least 120 grams of carbohydrates or your brain won't
work right, according to the American College for Preventive Medicine.
Cutting carbs also inhibits serotonin production.

Make sure you're getting high-fiber low fat carbs and try to
get to the point where you're exercising 60 minutes a day,
even if it isn't strenuous exercise.

Please site your sources.  I think your statement is utter bullshit.

Ig, I've seen you post 150g per day before and I was wondering is that
the grand total or the "without fiber" total.  Just wondering.

according to

         http://igor.chudov.com/weightloss/fitday/

I eat 149 grams of carbs per day and 32 grams of fiber, in a "typical
week". I suppose that the 149 carbs number does not include 32 grams
of fiber.

I don't count carbs (though I do stay away from bad ones). But looking
at my diet program stats. I averaged 185.3g carbs a day the past week.
With and average of 43.2g of fiber. So I have a net average of 142.1 a
day. I have had some days when my carb intake was well over 200 NET
grams. ((all good carbs.. fruits, veggies, beans)) I have some friends who
live atkins and are on less than 40 carbs a day and maintain healthy
lives. I obviously could not do that seeing I love fruit and beans.

Me personally? I worry more about eating plenty of fruits and veggies
and whole grains/fiber than I do about the total number of carbohydrates
I eat per day.  I also watch the added sugars (but don't really worry
about the sugar in fruits).
