Hi all,

amazingly, in spite of my bouts of comfort eating, I have lost 2
pounds this week!  I am really pleased, that I managed to keep a bit
of control over what I ate most of the time  (even if I did lose
control a bit sometimes) and that despite feeling low I kept up my
excercise.

Average calories this week has been 1962 per day.  Excercise has been
1 family walk, 1 swim, 1 aquarobics class, 1  belly dance class, plus
some short walks and bike rides.

I have a new plan for including more excercise in my routine, up to 20
mins walking per day.  I walk my son to school most days (some days
his dad takes him) but his school is only a couple of minutes walk
away.  My plan is, after dropping him off to walk briskly for 10 mins,
and to leave home 10 mins early before picking him up and do another
10 mins brisk walking.

love

Hi Clarrie,

Way to go, I'm proud of you.  It's great you've lost another two pounds.
Great job on the exercises and especially the variety of exercises.

Take care,

Paul

thanks Paul :-)

I do a variety of different exercise because I get bored easily, so it
works better for me to do several different things than to do the same
thing several times a week.  Also this way, I get a mix of things at
fixed times with an instructor (ie the classes) and things I can do by
myself and fit around my other commitments.

Walking works!  Don't ever believe it doesn't.  I'm hoping to be able to
walk outside after supper in a week or so. <sigh> It will be so great!

thanks Laurie.  I have no doubts that it does, my problem is fitting
in brisk walks.  My working-at-home working day is short, because I
finish at 3-ish when son finishes school.  And walks with a 4 year old
are fun (when he's not whingining) but rarely brisk, as we stop for
him to jump in every puddle or watch ants or throw stones in streams
or walk along walls or whatever.  I'm hoping my new plan will get me
some brisk walking time, particularly on days I don't have any other
exercise planned
