Every morning I wake up fat.
Every day, I live thin.
Cryptic? Not really.
After nearly five years of hanging in between the high 130's and low
140's having come from 219 pounds, my ears no longer perk up when I
overhear "fat" or "diet" at the next booth in the coffee shop.
I have come to terms with what to eat and how and when to exercise and
how and live largely (smaller) like whoever those "normal people" are.
I have my ups but so far turn them back into downs with a preplanned
system.*
I am not as tolerant as I should be, but resist the former temptation
to broach the subject with obese strangers. Still I wonder if they
realize it can be done.
So what's with waking up fat?
Well my first instinct upon waking is to get on the scale and I do. And
i move it and kick the 'reset" button with my toes. All this tinkering
never changes things by more than a pound and it's stupid and
unrealistic, but like Moranda said on "Sex and the City", "It's my
thing, let it go."
If I'm at the lower weight I am assured of a great day, otherwise it's
an uphill battle for self esteem until after breakfast. then it's
behond me and I start my agenda.
So after all this time, Tanita the Big tease has been granted a degree
of power over me, but that may not be such a bad thing.
It's better than having a pet parrot remind me.
*My system for getting the train back on the track:
use nutrition tracker
limit portion sizes
no second helpings
only planned snacks
no skipping exercises
Not so hard.

I've been having dreams lately where I'm at my goal weight (or more
exactly, my goal "shape" having a reasonably flat stomach and useful
muscles), then I wake and think, so cool I'm not fat anymore...just
for a second, then I remember...oh, yeah, still not there. Maybe 1/3
of the way.
