Food & Exercise -- 3/11/2004

Food:

8:45 (home): 2 poached eggs on 1 slice whole wheat toast w/ 3 slices
melted f/f cheese

11:45 (work, brought from home): energy bar

1:45 (restaurant): 1 piece raisin walnut bread; salad w/ greens,
seared rare tuna, tomatoes, dates, pine nuts, ginger, vinaigrette

5:00 (at the gym, pre-workout): creatine

7:30 (driving home): banana

8:15 (home): 190g grilled jumbo shrimp; 125g sauteed green beans

Totals: 1434 calories, 40g fat (25%), 154g carbs (43%), 118g protein
(33%)

Exercise:

12:00 -- 2 mile brisk walk

5:00 -- Olympic lifting:

Shoulder warmups, including a bunch of snatch work with broomstick

Classic cleans from the blocks: 2x3x25kg/55lbs; 2x3x35/77; 1x3x40/88;
1x2x42.5/93.5; 2x1x45/99 (plus one miss on my first try);
1x1x47.5/104.5  {This went **very** well.  The most I'd previously
cleaned in the past year -- since my injury and losing so much weight
-- was 40kg.  Tonight I did 47.5kg, which is 16 1/2 pounds more.  The
most I ever did before the injury and weight loss was 50kg.  I'm
definitely not nearly as strong as I was then, but the added speed
from being so much lighter makes me better able to get under the
weight.  I was delighted :-).)

Drop snatches: 2x3x15/33; 2x3x20/44; 2x3x30/66

Front squats w/ 5 second pause at the bottom: 1x3x30/66; 1x3x35/77;
2x3x40/88

Back hyper extensions: 1x10; 1x12 holding 7.5 lb. DB in each hand and
drawing them up to shoulders at the top of the extension

Abs: thing where you pull down weight stack from behind: 2x10x60
