ok, not done too badly for most of the week - i did lose it a little bit
on thursday night but didnt go really mad or go near any of my major
triggers and have been fine since. so for me its been a pretty good week
and im managing fine this weekend so fat too.

tonight im having a nice big fresh salad with tuna.
tomorrow afternoon will see me at a restaurant for someones birthday -
i'll stick to boiled veg and small portion of meat or something but
overall my whole outlook on this so far feels pretty good.

exercise this week has been good, most days ive done 15 or 20 minutes in
the morning and evening on my exercise bike. next week i plan to go out
on a few long steady walks providing the weather is better. weigh in is
on monday night but not worried about it as the changes ive made this
week arnt that drastic but should give me a steady loss over time.

You're doing great!  It's often better to make small changes over a period
of time - it's easier to keep them as long term habits.

I agree. I have been doing the same. it has taken me the first part of this
month to get to where I am now. And I am starting to feel better for it. I
know that the changes I am making along this journey are ones that are
better for me in the long run. good for you on decided on whats best for you
and sticking to it. most people I know don't understand why I am choking to
eat the way that I am. they figure cause I look medium size that I'm not fat
or big. but they don't know me  all that well because I used to weigh 165
almost 170lbs and I gain weight very easily so if I don't watch what I eat
then I'm in trouble.
anyway, keep up the good work ur not the only one that is going through
this.

This is good progress.

nevje,
Good work on the first week, you will find that the more you do any one
thing, the more of a habit it becomes. I have learned that simple
awareness on some very basic things has turned out to be my biggest
weighloss tool. Knowing what's "good" and what's "bad" is very basic
stuff and will be your building blocks of a better way of eating. Your
mention of triggers has me wondering though if you are talking more of a
behavior problem within your eating or if you are just meaning
temptations? How did you define your triggers? how do you plan to avoid
them?

im a bit of a junkie for most food groups, either savoury or sweet but
what i mean by triggers is definately turning out to be sweet foods for
me.

if i eat sweet foods either my mind or body? just suddenly craves food
in whatever guise it can get it, either lots of sweet or savoury foods
and any mental barriers ive tried putting up just seem to fall and i end
up with a bag full of chocolate or crisps or well, whatevers available.
i find at that time i just dont care what im doing.

so far this week ive managed to stay away from sweet food mostly, i
think thursdays little over indulgence was caused by a low fat fairly
healthy but very sweet tasting vanilla yoghurt - i craved food after
that one so those are off my list too for now

next week im going to try adding more exercise with walking and swimming
as time permits too

It sounds like you are making some positive changes to your way of life.
Are you tracking everything you eat?  Are you feeling better?  Drinking your
water?

Keep up the great work and you will be sure to see continued success!
