I am not sure about the wheat theory or not. I am feeling better, but still
draining a lot and couging up gunk. Not to be too graphic, but a lot of
what I am coughing up and sniffling up is yellowish, which is a clear sign
of infection. I am going to get allergies tested. I am off wheat and soy
since last Friday. I do notice much less bloating, but I think it is
because I am not eating bran buds every day (13 grams of fiber a serving).

Good. Take away several foods, see a problem reduce, and you don't
know if one of those foods caused the problem or something else.
The key will be adding those foods back in one per week, one at a
time, and see if the symptoms come back. Symptoms coming back are
far easier to notice than symptoms going away, and adding things
in one at a time lets you know the exact cause instead of getting
a list and wondering which it was. One week soy only, one week
wheat only, one week both.

It's a sign of infection but not a certain one. It could just be
old congestion slowly emptying out. That's my hope at this point.
That is gets both darker and less quantity then in about 1-2 weeks
you empty out and it goes away.

Yet another possibility, right. Soluble fiber is digested by
intestinal bacteria and causes bloating. Remove the grain that is
the source of the fiber, remove the bloating. If that's the cause
anyways. You could test this by supplying a different source of
soluable fiber. Do beans cause you bloating?
Take your time in your experiment. You're doing great.

I was going to start doing that after I got well. I started another round
of antibiotics last night. The Zpac didn't work out well, so now I am on
Levoquin. I am feeling a little better and can talk more... but I still
don't feel great.

I think I may have a food sensitivity or I may not at this point. I usually
don't have sinus issues like this, unless the pollen counts are hugs. The
allergist will be able to help me figure it out.

Beans don't really cause much bloating for me. I've been eating more
servings of them mixed with my spinach salads since I decided to give up on
wheat for a bit.

Again, thanks!!
