I spent 75 mins on the recumbent bike, going at the lowest level at about
12 - 13mph.

Based on the bike calculator, I've burned 160 calories.
Based on CPH website, its more like 470

weird on the difference.

Usually it's the reverse, with the bike calculator over-estimating.
That is weird.

But how did your knees feel after 75 minutes on the bike?

My left knee feels no worse than it did before the bike ride.    We had a
"cold front" move in today (temps still in the upper 70's) but the humidity
and rain made my knee hurt more than it did yesterday.

I took the anti-inflamatory meds after the workout, but didn't go thru the
trouble of icing.    And when it was all said and done, i actually spent 2
hrs on the bike.    Nice easy pace of about 11 - 12mph at level 1
resistence, then for the last 15 mins I did a interval setting that went
between level 1 for a couple mins, then up to level 7 for a couple mins then
back to 1 and cycled thru.  That made me work up a very minor sweat, but not
enough to even make my shirt wet.

Does the website give variations based on weight, speed, level, etc?  Those
could be big variables....  However, that is a weird difference.

www.caloriesperhours.com   one of the most common websites we quote for
calories burned and calories consumed.

Also, my bike allows to put in height, weight and age.

I gave up watching this on websites.
They all show different numbers, sometimes too different to be
trusted.

Oh, I don't trust them as "true" numbers.    But to have such a difference
300 cals...  that's just nuts.   It'd be one thing to see a difference in 50
cals or so.  But another to see a 300 cal difference.

75 minutes!  Impressive.  I recently got a new elliptical machine.  My
new self-imposed rule is that I'm only allowed to watch my soap opera
if I'm on the elliptical machine.  I can only last for about 25
minutes (which means that I miss half my soap opera but rules are
rules).  I'm proud because when I got the machine a month and a half
ago, I could only do 8 minutes.  I'm going to aim for 30 this week.

While on vacation I had access to the ellipticals.  I'd spend 15 mins
warming up on the bike, then go to the elliptical.   I could do about
45 - 1hr on that thing.   But I got a much better workout.

on the bike, because of my knee right now, I was just going at a slow,
easy pace.  It was like sitting and just moving my feet for an hour.
Its NOTHING like spending even 8 mins on an elliptical.   :-)

You are doing good at 25 mins.   Don't count yourself short on that.

I watch my soap on tape while on the treadmill.  I don't really have a
*rule* but the other day while contemplating skipping the TM, my only
thought was "But when will I watch Y&R?" (Like there aren't 2 other vcr's
in the house?)

Exercise - it's a habit like brushing your teeth.
