Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to post my last weight reading at 204 pounds. That's 96
pounds gone so far since August 27th. I'm looking forward to reaching the
100 pounds down club. I have another 29 pounds to lose to reach my goal of
175. I want to thank all of you for your positive support you've given all
the way. It makes it a lot easier to accomplish my goals with you guys
cheering me on the sideline.
Thanks again,
Paul

Thanks Ig,
Should be no problem, since I love the way I'm eating now. I've never ate
as healthy as I do now. I know there is room for some improvement, but I'd
say I eat better than 90% of folks out there. I hope to get serious and
start some weight training soon. I've been lifting some 25 pound dumbbells
at home and they have been killing me. I guess I need to use less weight.
I'm completing my sets and reps, but about two days after I lift my arms
kill me.

that's temporary, happens for the first 2-3 times and that's
all. (unless you really kill yourself with exercise). I would not use
less weight, personally.

I noticed when I hit 35 that the one-day after pain became two-day
after and sometimes three. Stick with it unless it's joint pain, in
which case back off and do higher reps with less weight.

Keep it up and it won't continue to hurt in the long run. Did you start
smaller and work up to 25 lbs?? (BTW, I can curl 20 lb freeweights - but
only about 8 reps before my arms fall off, then I go to 17.5)!

Perple Gyrl is right. Your muscles will get used to it and you
experience much soreness after lifting, unless you try something new.
(This sort of soreness is called DOMS, for Delayed Onset Muscles
Soreness -- usually occurs a day or so after lifting.)

I've never suffered from DOMS. Sometimes I am sore right after I exercise
if I have an extremely enthusiastic workout. But by the next day I feel
fine.

Try lifting a relatively heavy lbs dumbbell to complete
failure. Report the next morning.

I think they are typical pains from weight lifting.
They are called Doms. Body builders actually seek them, they say that
without doms there is no improvement or the training was not
effective.
Doms mean the muscle is slightly stripped and will rebuild itself
larger.
Congrats on the weight loss, Paul!
