Any time you exercise for more than 20 minutes, the amount of calories
you burn that come from fat exceeds those that come from carbohydrates.
Put a CD in the player and dance through the whole thing.
Learn Tae Bo, the tapes are available on amazon.

I would start by complaining bitterly to your line manager that you are
not allowed water when working. That is terrible - hell, even my *kids*
are allowed water in their classrooms and are encouraged to drink little
and often.
Do you have a union there? Take it up with them if you get no joy from
management. You are 75-80% water - you *have* to drink frequently.
If all else fails, get another job. Chronic dehydration is very bad for you.

its cos to many people took advantage of drinking water and left cups all
over the checkouts so, we have to suffer now with dry mouths

would they compromise on water bottles?
At my son's school, parent governors asked for the kids to be allowed
to drink water in class, head teacher said no because of the mess of
cups lying around and likelihood of small children spilling water all
over floor, books etc. Parents suggested each child having their own
water bottle (the sports-cap type) - problem solved :-)

I used to do this when I didn't have the treadmill or bike, I would
walk back and forth in the living room while watching TV. You can do
it wherever you have space but I recommend you do it in front of the
TV. Instead of lying down or sitting down and watching a sitcom (30
minutes) or drama (1 hour) .. just keep on walking. It doesn't matter
what pace, just get moving. You can vary the movement, back and forth
straight on then diagonally etc. Also you can put in some
aerobics-type movement at the end (like bringing your knee in to your
chest or a kick out). Sounds silly but it's an easy way to get your
heart rate up.
Also another thing is to just stand in place and kick your legs up ..
like cabaret girls (i think that's what it's called). I try to kick it
up above my chest/waist, I think ... and do about 100 reps, just
straight kicking in front of the body (alternate legs). You need to
hop a little at the end to kick it up high, although you do need to
watch it. Wear shoes. Then switch to 100 reps of swinging it side to
side in front of the body, think sideways cabaret kicks. Lots of mods
can be made and you can repeat it as many times as you want. It
definitely gets the heart rate up (trust me!).. and tomorrow you will
most definitely be very sore in the legs. Don't do 100 reps the first
time, try 50 or what you can manage. I oddly got this 'kicking' tip
from Cosmo and can see great results within a week. I absolutely abhor
squats, they make my legs feel like jelly (which means it works, I
know .. but I hate the feeling), so I do this & back lunges, whenever
possible.
Good luck!

If you have a week off, why don't you go outside and walk in the park
or something?

I agree. Walking in a park will also improve your mood.
I think exercising indoors might be boring, and in the long run you
might want to skip it.
