As soon as I made a comment about my ability to stick to yoga, I've started to
miss lessons. I didn't go last week, did not go this week (the old Wednesday
and St. Paddy's Day conflict)...I still figure that next week looks good,
though. Gotta keep myself honest. Plus, I gotta get back to it before my
endurance is all shot to heck. ;)

Following up on myself -- sure, why not? ;) -- I also have to note that my
weight has crept up a hair...not because of the lack of yoga, I don't think,
but primarily because of the dreaded Girl Scout cookie. Thank goodness our
kitchen counters are almost clear of cookies. And, honestly, I'm cookied out.
There are GS cookies in the freezer, but I really don't want to see another
cookie for quite a long while.

Note to self: No more cookies, keep eating low-calorie yogurt for lunch, and
follow all those good and well-tested routines.

I had a slight mishap with the GS cookies, too.  I only bought two boxes
this year and promised myself I wouldn't eat them all.......broken promise
:(   Thankfully it took me two weeks to finish the boxes and I cut back on
meals during this period without gaining anything.  Next year - NO GS
cookies<g>

I may do what someone else in our department did a couple of year ago.  She
bought several boxes of cookies and dropped them off at one of the homeless
shelters.  I thought this was a good idea.

I have a young Girl Scout in my house. Not buying cookies wasn't truly an
option, plus we got stuck with a bunch of the ones left unbought at the end of
the sale. I have cookies everywhere, including boxes in the freezer.

One kewl thing the GS troops here did was that folks could donate money instead
of purchase cookies. It wasn't uncommon for people to "buy" a box or two of
cookies and not take any with them. At the end of the sale, the girls will be
taking the cookies "bought" and donating them somewhere charitable. Last year,
I was told the cookies had gone to the Armed Forces.

Thanks for helping out the Girl Scouts! :)

We did that this year - bought cookies for the troops.  Last year I bought
cookies and gave them to the GS and told them to give them away.  I work in
a school so I get lots of GS coming to me.

Aww.......congrats on your cookie selling award. And thanks for your donations
of cookies.

Now that's a nice idea! If I run into any more Girl Scouts this season,
I'll feel free to just donate and skip the calories...

That is a great idea.  I avoided girl scouts this year because I don't want
to be tempted.  They have the BEST cookies.  Next time I see one, I will do
the same thing.

I'm finding it hard to get back into my normal exercise routine after my
vacation.  I didn't go for a couple of weeks and I'm struggling getting
back to the 2-3 times weekly for Curves.  Last week I made it one day but
I'm hoping for a better showing this week.

Hopefully you'll be able to get back to yoga soon.

Its always hard after a vacation.  DH and I are still struggling.   He
hasn't been back to the Y at all since we got back, and neither have
I.

So, right now I'm paying for the membership that isn't being used.  :(

I was looking forward to using mine during DS's soccer practices - as
the league is w/ the Y and they started out on the fields behind the
gym.  But they decided to move the practice down to the middle school
that is about 4 miles away.   I could probably drop off, go back to
the gym, workout for about 20 mins then go back to pick him up.   The
downside is that at 5:30 pm the gym is packed and I have to wait for
equipment - in 20 mins I might only get a couple sets on a couple
machines...  Not much of a workout.

Although, if I could run...  I'd be hitting the track around the field
at the middle school.

Getting back on track after a vacation can certainly be hard! Best wishes with
that. The worst part of this is that I don't have the excuse of a vacation.
*THAT'S* actually coming up in two weeks.

>Hopefully you'll be able to get back to yoga soon.

I fully expect to resume it this week. I'm looking forward to it. I just hope I
can still bend. ;)

I was pretty sick and didn't exercise for *gasp* 12 days until last night.
My arms and legs are so freaking sore.  I was glad to see that I was still
able to handle nearly the same amount of weight.  I am starting slow and
still not doing cardio until I can breathe properly.

I made it to Curves last night and I felt great afterward.  I plan on going
again Wednesday.  Hopefully I'll be able to get the bike out of the storage
shed and get it ready for the biking season this weekend.  My training for
the bike patrol starts April 3 and I need to be sure it's ready.  The
weather forecast indicates we're finally going to get some decent temps
around here.

Hope you're feeling 100% soon.  Don't rush the cardio - it will still be
there when you're ready<g>

You will get back to it, I have faith in you!  I don't think taking 1-2
weeks off will seriously hurt anything... as long as you do start again
soon.

Last night, I returned to yoga class. I didn't have any problems because of the
break I took; I actually felt great. So that was kewl.

WTG!  I've never done a lot of yoga but what little I have done I've always
enjoyed.

I've been to Curves once this week and the gym bag is in the van for
tonight.  I had planned on going last night but ended up helping a
granddaughter with a school project instead.  I thought about jumping on
the treadmill later in the evening but it was too late by the time we
finished playing with the paints, glue, sparkles, feathers, sequins, etc.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. It means a lot.

Great for you for hitting Curves at least once! Congrats to you. I think as far
as life priorities go, the granddaughter's project certainly comes first. It
sounds like you and she had a lot of fun...I'm envious!

It's true, I have.

I was running late last night and almost skipped the class but badly didn't
want to. My brain was in a whirr. I zipped in the studio a few minutes late,
started off with the breathing practice and then moved on to the yoga itself --
the breath took over my racing brain, and I was able to focus and relax. I've
actually trained myself. It was like mega excellent.

An ability to relax has never been one of my prime features. Geez, I love it. I
was so happy to be back

Pretty cool!  I bet you feel better!

I wanted to go to the gym tonight, but I wound up working until 9:30
(another 12 hour day).   7:30 last night and 7 the night before.  It is end
of the month in the mtg biz and I am busier then heck!!

Thanks, Perple. I *do* feel better...it really helps loosen up my back and
shoulders, in particular. Every time I go, I wonder what it is that makes me
sometimes put it off.

I hope your work calms down a bit for you soon!
