A curious fluke: your weight loss is slowing, your calories are rising,
then you buy a TiVo.... it looks like I might catch you after all!

Sounds heavenly. I wore my workout bra and yesterday's underpants under
my work clothes all day thinking I was going to get a chance to run out
weight-lifting any minute now... just as soon as I return the next phone
call, etc. But I ended up working straight through with only about two
20 minute breaks from 9 am to 9 pm. TMI, I know, but I kept thinking
for some reason that I'd fit in a workout somewhere. I'm rather mad at
myself actually for not!
BTW, my workouts these days are really, really brief. Like, 45 minutes
including changing, warm-up and shower. I rush to the gym (two blocks
away) and warm up with half mile run then squat, deadlift, bench press
and do chins and leave. My mantra is "squat something, push something,
pull something and out."

Well, if you want to get this low perhaps you will; I didn't think you
did, particularly. Right now I'm trying to maintain my current weight
and perhaps gain a pound or two before the meet. It is
disadvantageous to be toward the lower end of one's weight class --
best to be right at the top, though I'm too cautious to do that.
(Actually, my weight loss rate has been roughly 4 lbs. a month for the
last year, including these last few months. Looking at my graph, I'm
157 now, 161 four weeks ago, 166 four weeks before that.)
After the meet I need to make a decision about what I want to do.
Ahmed feels rather strongly that I should stay where I am, but I'm
inclined to want to get a bit lower -- maybe 145-150 -- one weight
class down from where I am now. Tom thinks I'm fine where I am -- at
a healthy weight, that is -- but wouldn't object if I wanted to lose a
little more. At any rate, I'm feeling like I'm in a sort of end game,
fine-tuning stage at this point.
We've had the TiVo for about a year, btw :-).

These things happen -- don't beat yourself up over it. I skipped
cardio tonight and am not worrying about it. I'll be cutting back on
cardio this week and next anyway to conserve energy for the meet.

I think it's great that you do this much when you're so busy!
