Hi Everyone!
I just wanted to say that I have been reading this group for the past three of
four weeks and I am amazed and touched at how loving and helpful this group has
been to anyone wanting to lose weight. It has been a pleasure to read and
"learn" every single day.....My thanks to all of you!!!!!

Thanks for the wonderful words MaryAnn. This group is a great group.
Over time we all go thru our own struggles and the group is wonderful
support. I've even met a few in Real life and let me tell you - they
are all as wonderful in real life as they appear here.

I agree, MaryAnn. The people here are really wonderful and kind. I lurk a
lot also and always come away with great ideas and love to hear all the
stories. Welcome!

Welcome MaryAnn,
I hope you tell us your story and weight loss goals. I'm sure you can
achieve them if you set your mind to it.

Good to hear from you MaryAnn. I hope you'll come out further and
tell us a bit about yourself and how the group may help you.

We all tend to learn from everyone so please feel free to jump on in - you
probably have a lot to offer even if you don't know it yet!

Hi Julianne:
What a pretty name! I have been lurking and occasionally responding to some of
the posts but haven't officially introduced myself or my problems to the group.
I am almost 58 and have not had a weight problem most of my life due to having
crohns disease. I have been in remission and now am carrying around about
30lbs too many... I am only 5'1" so I can "feel" every pound! I used to work
for the LA Weight Loss Center as a weight loss counselor for which I was
trained. My crohns disease and a brain tumor caused me to lose that job. I am
now on disability. Without my usual 20 to 30 bowel movements a day (which I
don't miss), my weight has slowly crept up. I also use to teach country
dancing which kept me very active. I taught 3 days a week and danced on
average 5 days a week. Now I am only dancing once or twice a week. Plus I am
going through menopause and all these factors have caused my weight to slowly
creep up. The LA Weight Loss program included "nutritional supplements"
actually a high protein bar and my limited income doesn't allow for such extras
and besides, they constipate me which is dangerous for anyone with crohns
disease. I am currently following the high protein, low-carb diet and have
been having some success with it. I enjoy reading the group and getting to
know it's members. Keep the good advice and support coming!...Love, MaryAnn C
