25 lbs in just 25 days, unbelievable. What are you doing to lose
weight so quickly? Congrats!

my doctor says i had alot of water - that contributed
also, i reduced my caloric intake by two thirds - down to 1100-1200 per day
also, i was once inactive and now i make an effort to walk, climb stairs,
etc

i still find it so very difficult to walk without a purpose - yes i know my
health...but to walk to the post office has a built in purpose, like
something to get your mind off the fact you body hurts and your feet want to
turn around and go back home - a purpose

at 364lbs i really do not move around much by choice - this has had to be a
serious effort on my part.

this is only the second time i have ever dieted - it is very hard
i had never really paid attention to the number of food related commercials
on tv
and i know i need to get a hobby to keep me from sitting in front of the tv
but i am not alone in the house and i can HEAR those commercials and
envision the tasty stuff they speak of ;)
commercials never smelled so good
and i enjoy food, i really love it
i love cooking, entertaining, eating and socializing with food in the middle
of it all

i enjoy all of your support
thank you

I have to run right now, but I suggest that you eat more than
1100-1200 calories. 1 lbs per day sounds like a great rate of weight
loss, but could cause problems of well known nature, etc. And you may
give up this stringent plan completely. If your doc is any good, ask
him about whether he/she thinks you are going too fast.

I do not think you have to stop this, if you like it.
You just have to learn new low-calories recipes.
Fish, vegetables, fruits, even some types of meat.
I am learning to cook quite a lot of dishes with vegetables.

Hi tala, you've made a good start.  It only gets better.  Losing almost
100 pounds didn't make me love food any less than before.  I just know
now that I can't eat everything I see.  Commercials can't really bother
me because it's so far for me to drive to any of the food places.

It helps to plan ahead what you'll be preparing for your meals -look
forward to *that* food.  Find recipes online that add flavor to food
without calories.  Once you know you have changed the way you eat for
good, maybe you can reward yourself.  I used to eat *one quarter* of a
brownie every Friday night.  I was never tempted to eat the rest (they
were in the freezer) and that made me feel like a success - I was in
control of what I ate.

I really liked this book: Changing For Good by Prochaska.

Keep posting to asd!

Great progress!   Are you also working with your doctor with the
weight loss?

Wow! I am very impressed with the amount you have lost so far. That
takes real dedication.  Good luck with your angiogram.

Great Job Tala,

I'm sure you'll make your goal if you put your mind to it.  By the way,
what is your weight loss goal?  O, hope you have a Happy 40th Birthday, I'm
right behind you and will be 40 on June 30th.  I'm losing weight for my
health, family, and to be around long enough to see my grand children grow
up.  I'm feeling great and in 7 months have lost 100 pounds.  Weight comes
off a bit faster I think, when your pretty heavy and will slow as you near
your goals.

I hope you can get into walking and make it a fun part of your day.  Maybe
you can do a good cardio workout on a stairclimber or elliptical machine.  I
walk 4 miles a day and use a stairclimber or elliptical machine for an hour
a day.  This exercise and eating healthier foods and smaller portions is
what has helped me.

Take care and keep us posted on your progress,

Paul

Congrats on the great start, please son't be disappointed when the
weight loss slows down, this is normal. A weight loss of 1 to 2 lbs a
week is considered healthy, it also gives you time to adjust to your
new habits. Keep up the good work, looking forward to further rapport
to how it is going.
