I had my routine annual checkup yesterday...last time I'd been in was a year
ago January. I've been in "maintenance mode" all that time, and I was anxious
to see what The Official Doctor Scale had to say. I had dropped 3 pounds since
last year's weigh-in...that looks like maintenance success enough for me. I
guess I can finally stop pinching myself (so to speak) to see if this is real
or just a dream! :)
I went shopping (well, Goodwill shopping!) in the size 6Ps to celebrate.

Yay! Congratulations. I've been wondering lately if I was a slender
person who accidently got fat through lack of attention or if I'm a fat
person who managed to get slender through determination. I haven't
decided yet. What do you think?

Oh, a slender *and* determined person. Definitely. :)
Thanks for your support, Dally!

Very cool, bees. I find myself hoping I never become blase about what I
have done. It is pretty amazing and I'd like to keep that attitude.
Here's to continued success!

Whenever I start to put the weight loss behind me, something will get my
attention again -- like a nice comment from someone standing in the lunch line
next to me or a glance at my passport picture, taken at my top weight. I'm
pretty mixed, myself. On one hand, I'd sort of like to pretend my "fat years"
never happened. On the other hand, it's reassuring to know that I'm strong
enough mentally to make major changes in myself and in my life.
>Here's to continued success!
Thanks, Laurie. To you, as well. Cheers!

That is great that you've been able to maintain for a year! It is real!
You are proof that it can happen.

Wow, Beeswing, I'm impressed. It seems to me that maintenance is the
real test of the success of weight loss and you seem to have passed
the test. I would be so pleased if I were in your shoes (or in your
6Ps perhaps I should say)

Thanks, Janice, for your kind words and all your support! I don't think I could
have done any of this without the help of this newsgroup.
