Hello ASD,

Just wanted to let everyone know I've updated some photos in my webshots
folder at http://community.webshots.com/user/paul76180.  I put them in a
folder called 200.  I was actually around 198 when I took the pictures, but
hey what's a couple pounds, right? LOL

No I still can't smile, maybe if I reach my goal of 175 I'll be able to do
it.  Ig, I hope they are ok pictures for you,  the only way to see any more
definition I'd have to take my clothes off, and I don't want to scare
everyone, so that's out. LOL

By the way you folks could be doing the same thing and showing everyone
else your progress too, so I don't anyone to dawg me out for not smiling,
showing enough or anything else.....just kidding people.  I'm feeling great
and am looking forward to seeing what another 23 pounds of my frame will
look like.

Best wishes to all,

Paul

Thanks Ig,

I'm feeling great and am really anticipating even bigger transformations
in the future.  For some reason I believe I'm going to see things in my body
that I've never seen before.  I hope I'm not kidding myself, but I feel I
have a big upper body and if I can lose fat and gain muscle I think I can be
in better shape than I ever have been, even with my disability.  Also I have
no concerns about failing at my eating or exercising, which makes me think
I'm comfortable doing what I'm doing, and I know I am eating healthier than
the majority of folks in America and still have room to make my body better.

If I lose two pounds a week until June 30th (my birthday) I will have
reached and exceeded my goals.  I think this is very doable.  It is my hope
that I reach my goal before I turn 40 for my health and family, and it seems
like it's almost here.  Even if I don't make it by that date is no big deal
to me, I just wanted to be healthy at 40 and beyond.  I think I'm healthy at
my current weight, even if those old weight tables say I'm overweight.

Take care,

Paul

Yes, I think that now is the time to do some hard resistance
training. No doubt you eat better than perhaps 85% of all people in
this country. Making the date is not relevant, as you noted, but it is
a good reality check.

Thanks Perple,

My mom is either really worried or doesn't want me to get to my goal.  She
says that she thinks I'll look sickly.  I'm just wondering if that's her
real reason.  Dr. Phil talks about family members sometimes giving negative
support for different reasons.  I do have some fat still over the abdominals
and a little in the love handles.  I've got a little excess skin in the
belly area and would consider having a tummy tuck and a little liposuction,
but want to wait till I reach my goal just in case I'm able to do it
naturally.

I agree with you as far as can't picture myself being smaller, but my doctor
and dietician said I should weigh 165 and 179.  I'll be happy to be under
the weight I was in high school.  I don't want to make myself sick either.
What's going to be hard is backing off my exercises.  Currently I'm working
out two hours a day, and once I start to work I'm going to have to reduce it
at least an hour.  I don't know if I'm going to have any psychological
repercussions because of this.  Only time will tell.

Have you been to you dietician lately?  I'm looking forward to seeing your
picture, so hurry up and update it, ok?

Is your mom a very overweight person?  There may be people that sabotage you
out of jealousy, etc.... but who knows what the real motivation is.  It has
to do with how you feel.  How do you feel at your weight now?  Do you feel
healthy?  Do you feel "normal" like you don't stand out anymore?  Do you
feel happy??

I know what you have set in your mind to weigh.  However, is you
dietician/doctor considering muscle vs fat in their equation of 165-179 lbs?
Another thing to consider is the pooch and other excess skin you will have
left over.  After getting lipo and/or tummy tuck... you will lose several
more lbs from the loss of excess skin/fat.   Seriously, I am thinking that I
should be weighing about 175-180 to look my best.  I am 5'9" and a natrually
large/sturdy girl.  I think I would look sickly at much less then that due
to my build, bone density and muscular structure.

Did you get a new job yet?  If so, tell me about it!  Have you added more
weight training to your exercise??

Hi Perple,

By the way I saw your updated photos, and you look GREAT!  Keep up the
good work!  I'm so proud of you.

My mom is overweight with diabetes, but she is currently trying to lose
weight too.  She has lost about 25 to 30 pounds so far I think and wants to
lost another 20 to 25 pounds too.  She is 74 years old and has osteoporsis
and works out on a treadmill an hour a day now.  She doesn't have much
energy and always has negativity in her voice when I try to get her to walk
outside or go further or try to go faster.  Her weight doesn't come off very
fast in fact it seems slow, but for her age and her condition I think she's
doing a great job.

> I know what you have set in your mind to weigh.  However, is you
> dietician/doctor considering muscle vs fat in their equation of 165-179 lbs?

I don't think my doctor or dietician considers muscle vs. fat, I think they
have a chart they go by, and it has a high and low side for someone my
height and age.  I think the doctor picked the middle of the chart and the
dietician picked the upper of the chart.  I do feel pretty healthy
considering my disability.

> Another thing to consider is the pooch and other excess skin you will have
> left over.  After getting lipo and/or tummy tuck... you will lose several

My pooch or excess skin is pretty small and I don't think it would weigh
more than a few pounds, unless that is, a doctor were to liposuction away
the fat that covers my abdomin and they might be able to shed 5 to 10 pounds
I'm thinking.  I'm more concerned with the way it looks myself, it makes my
belly button look a bit big.  I'm going to wait and see what the next 20 or
25 pounds does before making any decisions for any type of cosmetic surgury.

Seriously, I am thinking that I
> should be weighing about 175-180 to look my best.  I am 5'9" and a natrually

I think you look great in your pictures and will be awesome when your down
to 175-180.  I'm very proud of your accomplishments.  You've come a long way
for sure.

> Did you get a new job yet?  If so, tell me about it!  Have you added more

My friend hasn't come through for me yet with the job yet.  He said he was
going to be able to hire someone and wants me, but the office polotics
aren't letting him hire yet.  My insurance company is coming down on me and
I've got to find a job soon.  It's hard to find a company that wants to hire
someone who's been out of work almost three years and has a slight
disability, in my line of work that is.

That is a good thing.. at least she is trying.

Good... I guess you can lose the rest of it and see how you feel then.  If
you feel weak or too skinny, you can add a little bit.

If you loose 20-25 more lbs then get 5-10 sucked out, that would put your
weight as low as 165!  Wow, well I don't blame you for wanting to wait.
Does your Dr or Dietician think you are still overweight now???

Well I'll cross my fingers for you.  Is your cobra getting ready to run
out??  Are there any other job opportunities for you out there???  With your
positive, can-do attitude, it shouldn't be that hard for you to find a job.
It isn't like you were lazy and didn't want to work.

Thanks Perple,

I don't think my head can get any smaller...lol.  My abs, booty, and love
handles are the only things I think I have left to lose.  I think I could
get to 175 and look pretty much the same as I do now, only would be smaller
in the hips and waist I think.  I might even have more definition in the
chest and lats.  I've noticed that from about my belly button up, I'm
getting a v shape and more definition in the chest.

Oh I'm tired...I'll chat with you later,

The smiles at the wedding were genuine happy smiles and not the forced
smiles most of us pose with in photos so of course they looked great!  Maybe
when you're at goal weight the happiness you will feel will make your smile
genuinely awesome.
