If you get up in the morning, drink 2 cups of black coffee,
then run until you sweat, drink 4 more cups of black coffee, then sit at the
PC until 12 noon - what happens?
That is, do you start burning fat at any time between
8am & 12 noon under these conditions?

Thanks,
Gene

to me personally?  i'd feel like absolute sh.t.  i'd be sick to my
stomach and have a headache to beat the band.  i'd also be cranky beyond
belief.

you might, but it's an exceedingly stupid thing to do.  learn to eat
less and exercise more.

It'll work even more if you combine it with massive doses of Ephedra
and Asprin.

No...  Forget the coffee.  You will gradually build up a tolerance to
caffeine, and even if it does work at first, which I doubt, the
effects will diminish.  Also, you will be gittery and feel like royal
crap for a while.

The running part of your plan sounds good though.  Start running or do
some other form of exercise at least five days a week.  Gradually
increase the duration and/or intensity of your exercising.  Replace
the coffee with water.  Also, learn to eat healthy: learn about some
different ways of eating: there are a lot of different ways discussed
in asd, and find one that you can live with.  Then you will start
burning fat.

You have to pee?  You feel dehydrated from the combination of exercise
and diuretic?

Let me rephrase the question:-)

Does coffee stop or retard the fat burning process
in any way?

That is, if you drink coffee & skip breakfast - will the fat burning process
be "as efficient" as if you had eaten a proper breakfast & drank zero
coffee?

Put it this way... black coffee will not significantly hurt or help
your fat burning.

Weight loss occurs when you burn up more calories than you consume.  I
drink a cup of coffee (or have a caffeine pill) before I go to the gym
because it helps me work out harder.  Coffee may help you lose weight
if you use it to help you exercise more.  You may also get a
short-term weight loss from losing fluid - coffee is a diuretic.
Skipping breakfast is usually a very bad idea.

Hi, i'm like alot of people I can't stop eating. In fact I love food,
but I have an idea. If we could kill our taste buds and impair our
sense of smell for a short time (a month or so) we would no longer
have the desire to eat fatty foods because it would all taste the
same. I could eat things I would normally turn my head at. I would not
look forward to eating because it all tastes the same. It would cut
down on the enjoyment of food and would cause you to only eat when
your hungry and not overeat. Does anybody now of something safe I can
take to kill my taste buds or impare my sense of smell? Please e-mail
me. Thanks

There used to be a gum(?) that numbed your tongue.  You are right - if
food tastes bland you wont eat as much.  Unfortunately, you'd have to
continue with the gum (or adding a bad tasting ingrediant) the rest of
your life or the weight would come right back. You can try what I do -
eat the same foods every day.  Lack of variety = less eating.  Also,
adding fiber to your diet will cause a 10 to 20% decrease in appetite.
Just remember:  temporary solution = temporary weight loss.

In addition to what Brad stated, you really have to decide if weight
loss is your only objective. Do you want to lose weight or be
healthier? Its true that you can skip breakfast taking in fewer
calories, but this won't lead to a healthier body. You body needs
nutrients to survive and if you skip meals, then your body goes into
survival mode and burns even less calories each day. You best choice
is to eat a healthy breakfast (include coffee if you want) exercise
and eat 5 - 6 smaller meals throughout the day.

Wishing you great success,
