SBD Day Two

Day two went much better than day one.  For one thing, I ate enough
calories - 1500 as opposed to less than 1000 on Monday.  I am down to 138
for a total of five pounds weight loss.  I also walked an enormous distance
yesterday.  I had some letters to mail and the post office is about a mile
away.  However, walking there proved to be treacherous with the traffic and
the lack of sidewalks so I took a very long detour home and probably logged
four miles.

I made it a point to eat yogurt, nuts and vegetables enough to keep me out
of that ickified feeling that one gets when eliminating all carbs.  It
seemed to work without negating the effects of the diet.  I still don't like
the way the pie chart on fitday looks with all the fat but I have to remind
myself that most of the fat calories are coming from nuts and canola oil and
not sat fats.

Five pounds is undoubtedly fluid and it will be interesting to see how my
weight progresses as I get closer to a 'dry weight' as they say in the
dialysis clinics.

My challenge today will be eating out with my friends for dinner.  A lot
will depend on the place that we all agree on and I suspect agreement will
be forthcoming after a dozen or so emails as is usually the case.

Congrats on finding something that works for you, please don't be
disappointed when the weight loss drops off to a steady 1 to 2 lbs a
week.

I fully anticipate that happening very soon.  I have been doing well over
the last year steadily dropping weight.  However, my BF's doc was mildly
concerned about his lipid profiles and suggested this.  We got the book at
the airport and I decided to give it a go and if it works well for me, maybe
we can find a diet that we can both live with as we live in a very eating
sort of town!  Meanwhile, I like it because of the emphasis on health.
