Was wondering what everyones average was on calorie intake for each day.
I am trying to aim right now for 1200 calories a day. Some days are a little
lower depending on what I eat , also the numbers maybe a little higher. I'm
also trying to maintain over the next month as I am in a wedding at the end
of may.
I guess what I am trying to really ask is this , for those that are on
maintianence what is the amount that you eat that you don't gain weight ? I
also do know that everyone is different and are calories will differ. But I
do need a rough idea of some numbers to work with. I'm not really counting
carbs , but I was at the beginning of the month and am roughly eating 100
grams a day or less.
I have cut alot of things out of my diet and made drastic changes mostly
due to doctors orders. I have bad adult acene and am trying to clear it and
she for right now has told me to cut all sugar and junk food out , and eat
more veggies and fruit and fish and chicken and not so much red meet.(not
that I eat much of it any way). Alright I guess I rambled on long enough,
hope that I gave u enough info about my diet and that some one can answer my
question. Thanks in advanced

I am a 28 yr old 5'3" female who weights 126 lbs and gets regular exercise.
My maintenance without exercise is around 14-1600 calories, or about 12 cal
per lb of bodyweight. With exercise I maintain at closer to 2000 calories,
but usually I just shoot for 1400 per day, and don't freak if I'm over or
under, as it usually evens out over time. On heavy hiking/biking days, I
easily eat 2000 calories or more. To lose weight, I shoot for 10 cal x #
lbs of bodyweight. But I'll still increase calories when I need it.

You might also want not to cut the fats too much. Especially quality oils,
fat fish and butter. The fat soluble vitamins and essential fatty acids are
an important part of skin (and hair) health.

Yikes! I wish that I had the perfect answer for that. I'm in the
1800-2100 calorie per day range. I also exercise on a daily basis
(riding bike outside, elliptical, stair climber, spin class, hiking,
walking dogs @ 3.5 mph, etc.). I'm 5'8".

Good for you! Have you decided for sure on Atkins or have you also
looked into South Beach? I mean, are you still researching plans or
have you more or less settled on Atkins?
I understand that you are on an eating plan designed by your doctor at
the moment. What does she/he say about chaning your diet in June?

Everyone's average will be different.
We are all not the same height, weight, age or have the same end goals
in site, so we all won't be eating the same amount.

i understand that, but i just wanted to get and idea of what peoples average
was and i am experimenting with my calorie intake to see what amount i can
eat without gaining. I was also wonderin if anyone new of a good book to
read on low calorie /low fat diets that I could get where i could find out
more info or any good sites on the net.
I am going home this weekend for a bridle shower but i am going to be
good. Don't get me wrong i will have fun but i won't over do it with my
eating.
thanks again for ur help
