In January, when I first started seeing my doctor about weight loss,
he recommended that I begin with a goal of losing 10% of my body weight,
which would be 25-26 pounds. Last month, someone (I'm sorry, I can't
remember who) posted this link to figuring one's body fat percentage:

http://www.he.net/~zone/prothd2.html

That got me off the stick and I finally got around to measuring myself
then and again today, and I'm pleased with the results:

Date  : 3/31/04         Date  : 4/30/04
Weight: 239 lbs.        Weight: 232 lbs.
Height: 64"             Height: 64"
Waist : 48.5"           Waist : 47"
Hips  : 52.75"          Hips  : 51"
Neck  : 16"             Neck  : 16"
BFat  : 62%             BFat  : 59%

So I'm well on my way to my goal of losing that 10% (going from 251
to 225 lbs.), and I hope to drop another 7 pounds this month. Thanks,
to everyone, for being so inspirational... :-)

That's fantastic J.J.!!!!    I'm really proud of you.  I'm going from my
high weight of 258 to 150.
I'm currently at 228 as of yesterday morning.  You can do it!!!  You're
another one I'm going to keep track of since our goals are so similar!!!

Way to go!

Way to go!! I'm so happy for you. Keep up the good losing.

I'm new here and have a lot to lose. I weigh about 334 or somewhere like
that.

Got to get weighed again next week.

Cool beans on your loss

Thanks to everyone for their kind and supportive replies!

I found out this morning that I have pneumonia, so I won't be doing
any serious weight loss for a few days, which really sucks because I
had just started walking again after the last virus I had at Easter. Oh
well, such are the perils of having a small child in school.

Hope you're all well, I'll start posting again when I feel better...
