Food:

9:00 (home): 2 poached eggs on 1 slice whole wheat toast w/ 3 slices
melted f/f cheese

12:00 (driving to gym): apple

2:30 (while shopping, after workout): energy bar  {Not enough to eat
up to this point in the day!}

6:45 (country club grill room): 5 oz. wine; 1/2 dinner roll w/ 1/3
tbsp butter; 1 cup crab bisque; house salad (2 cups greens, a few
pieces of tomato, mushroom, and cucumber) w/ 1.5 tbsp balsamic
vinaigrette; 2 oz. asparagus; 1 oz. baked potato (just took a couple
of bites and gave the rest to DH -- no butter); 4 oz. grilled tuna

8:15 (home): 4 mint meringue cookies

Totals: 1348 calories (107 from wine), 25g fat (17%), 177g carbs
(53%), 77g protein (23%) -- pretty low in protein for me

11:00 (home -- planned): creatine

1:00 -- Exercise (bench, treadmill):

Bench: broke in my new bench shirt today (This is a most uncomfortable
sort of compression garment that one wears in competition -- it can
add 10-20% to what you can bench.  It takes two strong guys about 10
minutes to put it on me, and it leaves nasty abrasions under the arms.
What we do for love! :-) )  With the shirt: 1x5x45; 1x5x85; 1x3x105;
1x1x135; 1x1x145; 1x1x150

Close grip bench (after taking off the shirt): 2x5x85

Seated overhead DB extension: 2x5x40

Triceps pressdowns: 2x8 w/ 6 plates

Machine rows: 2x8x70

Lat pulldown, reverse grip: 1x10 w/ 7 plates; 1x8 w/ 8 plates

Shoulder stretches

Treadmill: 1 mile run, with repeated pattern (1.5 minutes at 4.6, 1
minute at 6.0)

There's a guy at my gym who uses one when he's gearing up for competition.
They resemble both a wetsuit and straightjacket at the same time... :)

didn't notice any b-day cake in your log

That's pretty apt.  Except I think in straightjackets they tie your
arms behind you, and in wetsuits I assume you can move them freely.
In a bench shirt you sort of walk around with them sticking straight
out in front of you; you can't really put them down at your sides.

No, but I'm going out for a big fancy dinner tomorrow night (if you're
interested in the menu, see
http://www.kov-dc.org/menus/assemblage_menu_2004.htm )
and didn't want to splurge that much tonight.  We'd talked about
ordering a dessert to split, but neither of us could finish our
entrees.  Half of my very large tuna steak is in the freezer; it will
become part of a salad for Monday lunch, I think.

Wow Chris what a menu indeed.

Hope you enjoy. Happy belated B-day.
