I'm no Paul but I'm losing and getting back to my best weight  with
only 2 pounds to go and five weeks to get there.
Jay Jay's advice seemed to turn the tide and ease the ride.

The California Raisins are in tears as they haven't seen me in weeks at
least not entire 250 gram packages of them. They even forgot what the
kitchen cupboards look like and so did I.

I've been fighting with a bag of trail mix in my cupboards.  I bought a
large bag with the intention of dividing it into smaller bags for bike
rides.  It's already half gone and I haven't taken that first bite with me
on the bike rides.  I think it's back to the protein bars as I don't seem
to have a problem with them.

Congrats on nearing goal!

Here are my new DFGR (Dried Fruit ground Rules) as inspired my Mrs. jaj
jay. if in Whole Foods, i give myself permission to buy a few slices of
dired mango or a few ounces of raisins. i can eat them there as a snack
or bring them home to incorporate in a recipe. But no boxes, bags,
packages may cross the threshold. It's the key factor in my weight loss
over the past few weeks as i still use nut butter but the same rules
apply to loose nuts.

Ever tried a peanut butter pancake? Just add a heaping tablespoon of PB
to a well beaten egg . You'll probably love it. i also bake PB for my
SCD brownies luncheons twice a year. Your kids may like them. Cut in
SMALL squares!

I'll never buy another large bag of trail mix.  I put the remainder of the
mix in small plastic bags last night for use on the bike trails.

Peanut butter never makes it into the house.  It's one of those trigger
foods for me.  Once it's in the house I can think of a million things that
would taste better with a little PB spread on it :)
