Why dont I see lamb, esp chops, listed either good or bad under South Beach
diet?
I also dont see pork chops.
Am starting Phase 1.

I think he says to avoid lamb, or, for that matter, any fatty cuts of
meat.

Isn't meat on the list?

I know some people want "meat" to mean nothing but beef.  I way to
justify calling yourself a vegitarian even if you eat chicken maybe.
But that's not what meat means.  If it was cut form an animal it is
meat.

You name the animal, it's probably allowed.

The only meats that have any carbs are:

1) Molluscs have 1.0 per ounce, well under SBD limits.  Oysters, clams ...
2) Crustaceans have 0.1 per ounce.  Crab, lobster ...
3) Liver from any animal has 1.0 per ounce.

Thanks.  Yes meat is on the list but London Broil is "good" and rib steaks
are "bad" so you cannot generalize that lamb chops = meat = good.
Veal chops are on the enjoy list so maybe I'll just take all chops as good.

Then it's based on fat content.  Rib steaks taste the best because
they are near the highest in fat content.

Is lamb lean?  Depends on how you cook it I suppose.  Certainly
leaner than a rib steak for almost any cut of lamb.
