I need to learn to ride the new bike I bought last weekend.  It's going to
take awhile to get used to the new shifting system.  It's a Trek 1800C road
bike.  http://www.trekbikes.com/bikes/2004/road/1800c.jsp  I never thought
there could be such a difference in bikes but this thing is so different
than my hybrids.  I feel like I'm learning to ride all over again.

My granddaughter and I have been doing the Saturday morning rides.  They
average 15 miles and are held on the different bike trails in the Metro Park
system.  I plan on taking the youngest granddaughter (2 year old) when we do
one of the flat trails.  I don't feel like pulling a bike trailer up and
down hills for 15 miles<g>  These are real fun rides.  There are usually
25-40 people and most are in the 30+ age group.

I've finished all the training and CPR course for the bike patrol and will
be graduating this Saturday.  I'm ready to hit the trails....I just need to
become more comfortable on the new bike.  I plan to take it out each night
and do some short rides around town if the weather cooperates.

Hopefully all this riding will get me back into weight loss mode.  I'm still
hanging out in the 147-148 range.  They're getting ready to start another
round of WW meetings at work and I'm thinking about joining again.  Maybe
getting back into the program will give me the needed boost to lose the last
few pounds.

Hope everyone has a good week.
