Leonie, congratulations on getting hold of the issues and telling
yourself what you need to do now. Stick around here and read and
post, and you'll find a lot of good ideas from others.
One thing I would suggest, if you find the overall amount of weight
you have set out to lose sounds a bit daunting, then why not think
about having a series of short-term goals (and including these in your
sig line if you feel able to). This would break the task down into
manageable pieces to work towards.
You could even have 4 numbers - starting weight/current weight/next
short term goal/final goal.
Just a suggestion - it may not work that way for you.

I agree with the short term goal setting. I think it is more inspirational
to set short term, attainable goals...like maybe, at first, 10% of your body
weight. I know I would get discouraged if I looked at the total I wanted to
lose rather than focus on each new decile as I entered it. Good luck and
