Found a new church in my area that gives food once a month. My boyfriend and
I went there today. We got really good fruit and lots of pkgs. and cans of
food.
I found the service very interesting. The preacher got really excited and
started shouting. Kind of scared me to see that.
With this food my boyfriend and I will be able to make it through the month.
I have tons of student loans and they drain me dry each month. Thank God for
organizations that give to the poor.
Last week I had little to eat since the food money was spent on bills again.
It looked good at first and then this bill and that bill came in. I never
ended up grocery shopping.
Thank God for charity.
If I get my job next week after an interview with three people at once
things will improve. I'll be managing a big store and that pays well. Plus
my other job that I'm temp. laid off of. When that comes into play I will be
working about 60 hours a week. That should help not only with food money,
but give me plently more exercise.
For those of you that pray here please ask that God will provide for me
through this job that I'm interviewing for. I really could use the extra
prayers.
Thanks
Dianne

Dianne, I'll be praying that you get the job you're interviewing for
and get back on your feet financially.
Take care,
Chris

My dot.com experience ended about 4 payments before I had my student
loans paid off.
For two years I lived off one paycheck per month and sent the other to
the student loan folks.
Lucky for me I knew nothing about financial planning and decided to put
off learning about it until I had my debts paid off.
I knew a lot of people who maxed out their credit lines and their stock
investments back in those days.
Your post made me appreciate what I have.

Hi Dianne,
I'll pray that God exceeds what you wanting. It's the rough times we go
through that makes us grow. If you show strength and trust in the Lord he
will meet all your needs. He has blessed me all my life and helped me get
through some rough times too, and I'm sure I have some of the roughest times
in my life ahead of me. When they arrive I hope I can show strength and
faith in Him like I never have before.
Take care and I'll pray for you as well,
Paul

Call your student loan creditors and ask them if you can go to interest only
until you get a job. Call all other creditors and ask the same thing.
negotiate w/ your ceditors to help lower your monthly payments.
Student loan creditors are usually pretty willing to negotiate.
Makes me appreaciate paying for my school as I went along.

I financed through Sallie Mae, and any time that I have experienced
financial hardship, all I had to do was call them and they put me on
deferrment - no payments at all for 6 months. Yeah, the interest accrues,
but at 4%, it's a hell of alot better than credit cards.

I had the same experience with my first set of student loans - getting a
deferrment due to financial hardship. It wasn't complicated, but that was
15 years ago.

I certainly feel fortunate as my former employer paid for my college
education.

The problem is I have money coming in, but hardly enough to pay all the
bills. It's enough money so I have to pay, but not enough for me to get by
on. Thanks for the friendly hope for my new job.

Hi Dianne!
I understand where you're coming from--with my DH in
the construction business, it's feast or famine!
Doesn't mean you're not good at managing money, just
that there isn't any money to manage.
I get a lot of ideas from the
http://www.stretcher.com/index.cfm site, and the frugal
living newsgroup (though it's not as useful as it once
was)--money saved on the little things in life goes to
pay for my clothes habit--after the bills are paid, of
course!
Good luck on the job, and hang in there.
Amy
