Due to my son not sleeping well and also due to waking up at 5am, I
have not slept enough for the last few days. As a result I am sleepy
and cannot concentrate well. I urgently need to correct a certain
problem at work that requires me to remember several things at once,
which is very difficult today. Is there something I can do or take as
medicine that could help me as of right now. Thanks

Caffeine.

As in, simply, coffee? We have a coffee machine here, I am simply not
much of a coffee drinker, but I would not mind trying.

Coffee definitely helps me focus when I am having trouble concentrating on a project.
Try just one cup to start and have another if you don't notice any difference (within
about 20 minutes, I'd say). Consumption beyond that, especially since you are not
used to coffee, might just end up making you jittery.

I was going to suggest caffeine also.  I don't like coffee at all, but
Diet Pepsi works well :-).

Coffee is very good for concentration and artificial energy.  I prefer to
drink tea as opposed to coffee in the afternoon as you get a more steady
stream of energy instead of a big burst followed by lethargy.  I sometimes
drink two quarts of iced green tea in the afternoon when I have gone without
sleep.  It also works as a half hearted appetite suppressant.  In college, I
did the vivran thing and it works but is not particularly pleasant.  Most
diet pills have some sort of stimulant in them but I cannot speak to their
safety.

Thank you. Even though I figured out the solution to the problem
before I drank coffee, I could sense a little better concentration
after coffee.
