Well inspite of all the ups and downs over the last few weeks I
managed to finish maintenance last night with a loss of 1 kg so I no
have Lifetime membership. I needed this boost, because I have started
to slip on my eating, Thinking like Poor me I deserve this etc etc. I
am now starting a low iodine diet before starting the radiotherapy, so
that means pretty healthy eating, no butter or marg, no red food
coloring, but also no bread fish seafood and very little dairy. In
switzerland they add iodised salt to everything so no prepared
products either. I went to a dietician she recomended whole products
like loads of fruit and veg, lean meats. I have another appt in two
weeks and have to send her my food diary in advance for analysis so
see if inspite of these restriciions my diet is still balanced. My
Doctor tested my calcium levels on Wednesday they are still low (a
side effect of thyroid op) so I am still taking mega doses of Ca
supplements, I will miss the dairy though ( I love cheese and yogurt
etc) I have started gentle exercise again, just slow walking, but it
is a start. I am not allowed to lift anything so no weight training
for now, maybe come June. Thanks to everyone here for there support
over my weightloss journey, you guys have been a great source of
inspiration and advice.

Congratulations Michelle! It's fantastic you were able to make lifetime
member with all the other things you've had to contend with recently.
It sounds as if you're on the road to recovery. Take it easy and don't
push it.
