Hello, I started on the Atkins diet a few months ago and lost 30 lbs. I'm a
male, 5'9", and weight 150 lbs. I still have a bit of a spare tire in my
lower stomach area. I'd like to get rid of that and be able to see some ab
definition.
I've plateaud (sp?) on the Atkins diet and even going back on induction
didn't kick start it. I'd now like to go low-carb and low-cal. My problem
is that I'm having some trouble figuring out what to eat because I read that
eating too few calories is bad. Can anyone help me out here?

My first suggestion is to stop trying to lose weight, at least trying
to lose weight quickly. You can seriously mess yourself up with these
attempts to lose weight when you are so slim. My second suggestion is
to measure your bodyfat percentage, it's probably going to be rather
respectable. My third suggestion is to seriously start resistance
training. How big of a spare tire are you talking about? Do you want
to become ripped?

You don't say anything about exercise. Good health
requires exercise. Get started -- go walking, do curlups,
dance to a CD, go to the local mall and walk around
the concourse, mow the lawn, start learning tennis, go
to a fitness center and learn Tae Bo, etc.

Congratulations on the 30lb loss. You seem to be at a healthy weight for
your height. How much more weight do you want to lose?
Have you been exercising during this period? It's important to include
exercise to minimize the loss of muscle while losing weight.
If you want to track calories many in the group use www.fitday.com . It's
free but you need to register. It will track calories and the
carb/protein/fat ratios.
