I normally weigh naked second thing in the morning almost every morning.
Our scales didn't work Friday morning and replacing the battery didn't fix
it.  Since we're moving in a month and a half, we've vowed not to buy
anything that's not consumable, so no new scales until we're in the new
house.  I can weigh at the gym on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays but it
won't be under "normal" conditions.  I weighed 183 yesterday on their
balance scale and out of curiosity weighed the shorts, t-shirt and underwear
I was wearing on my "food" scale and they weighed 1 lb 1-1/4 oz.  How's that
for annal?  So I'm declaring my official weigh at 182 and I'm not going to
think much about the weigh of water and food in my system.  I do miss my
morning ritual very much but I'm hoping that I'll be able to adjust
eventually.  It's weird but so far this morning I can't shake off the "I
need to weigh" urge.  Habits are hard to break no matter what they involve!

Thanks.  That's good to know that other people (well, at least one un-weird
person) do the same thing.

Would be interesting to see what happens to your weight during that
time... Keep us updated... I spent a week without a scale at a all
inclusive resort and gained 1-2 lbs.

But surely this isn't quite the same thing and won't be likely to
happen to Tonia unless she goes off her WOE.  Your gain would have
been due to being at the all inclusive resort, rather than not being
able to weigh yourself everyday - no?

(who will never understand daily weighing!)

It's hard to say what is the exact cause, but quite possibly I would
adjust myself sooner if I knew I was regaining.

So, I am curious what will happen to Tonia.

I will continue to weigh and measure my portion and keep my calorie intake
at the level that I need it to be to lose weight so I really don't think
that not weighing every morning will cause me to gain weight.  I'll also
exercise like I have been doing.  I just miss part of my morning ritual.

i used to weigh myself everyday too, there are lots of us out there. I
haven't gone as far as weighing my clothes though. I have cut back on
weighing myself now though. sometimes I forget to do it. and other times I
just don't have time to. I try not to stress over that I stress over other
things way too much.
my b/f says I'm gonna give myself an alser with all the stressing I do.
sometimes it's over the littlest things too.

There's a constant debate about weighing daily vs weekly vs monthly.  The
time scale for loss really is month to month no matter that nearly no one
is willing to wait that long.  Weighing weekly is enough to check for
soemthing wrong happening.  Weighing daily works okay if and only if you
are completely objective and unemotional about it.  Folks who freak out
at the natural bounce should stay off the scales.  Folks who calmly enter
today's data into a spreadsheet that gives a weighed running average
should keep on weighing.  Writing about withdrawal symptoms even as a
joke puts you in the shouldn't group in my opinion.  So it's a good thing
your scale broke.  It let's you break what eventually became an addiction.
