Hello,

I was just having a look at http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk and came
across a free trial for an online food diary.

As part of the diary you can enter the food you normally eat and it will
tell you what the calories, fat content etc is for what you are having.

Is there a downloadable version of that database?  I don't really want to
pay for diet websites etc as I could do a diary for myself for free, it is
just the stats I would need.  I know that most foods come with the stats on
the packing but it is useful for items like unbagged potatoes etc.

Also, can anyone suggest any good online resources for losing weight (free
ones that is!), I could really do with losing 2-3 stone as I am not very
happy at the minute...

Many thanks,

Moo

Moo, I'm in the UK too.   I' ve used WLR on line and I think it's
excellent, although in general I'm not a person who likes to journal
my food too much.   I'm not aware you can get hold of the information
free, though.

However, there is an excellent book called  The Calorie Carb & Fat
Bible, which is published by Weight Loss Resources/Penhaligon Page Ltd
and contains a complete breakdown of calories, protein, carb, fat and
fibre content of practically every food product in the UK you can
think of, as well as all the basic non-branded food items - in other
words a printed version of the WLR on-line food database.
I have the 2003 edition, which I found in a bookshop without any
difficulty, the ISBN is 1 904512003 and it cost £12.99.

As for online resources, this group isn't a bad place to start!
