My TOM ended the other day and getting on the scale this am I am down
a pound, which is fantastic to me! The past month, we have had house
guests consisting of assorted family members coming and going. This
coming weekend I am looking forward to getting back to regular life
with hubby and dog!

The happiest thing for me is that I really stuck with my WOE while
people were here and I indulged pleny, I just ate small amounts and
sensibly. Consequently I did not gain a lb while people were here and
I actually kept losing. We ate out plenty last week and I found it not
at all difficult. My head is in a different space now and I am totally
integrated in my new WOL. I feel like I have always eaten this way. No
big deal. I am looking forward to maintenance (I know, cart ahead of
the horse) because I know that I will not fail. I am different now!

I don't notice better health or increased vitality, as I never had bad
health before, but I did notice a change in my TOM, much more
manageable. I have done some reading and I *think* this means my body
is adjusting my hormones, rather than my fat cells dictating hormone
levels.

My mini goal is 160 by 10/31/04, and I think perhaps I could attain it
before then, though I am still holding that date for now. As it draws
nearer, I may adjust that down and change my second goal, which is 150
by 12/31/04 to a different date as well. For now all stands as is and
I am pleased with progress so far.

Overall I am thrilled to have ASD in my life and to feel the support
from everyone. Thank you all!

You sound just like I did.  The year I was losing weight I went on 2
vacations and never gained an ounce that wasn't gone by the following
Monday.  Other than a birthday party I had to leave early because the
carrot cake was chanting "you need TWO pieces" at me, I found it pretty
easy to keep to my plan.

If you're interested, there is an amazing book called Changing for Good
that really struck a chord in me.

Keep it up Ally, you can attain your goals.

Change your mind - change your life.

Thanks Laurie! The support is is much appreciated!

I'm going to the used bookstore to check out the book -- do you have
genre and/or author? I'm a voracious reader so I'll usually jump on
any recommendation! :-)

My mind is changed, and my life is changing daily. It all seems so
natural and easy once the light bulb goes on, doesn't it?

It's that way for me.  I feel lucky.
