Well, in light of a few others posting theirs, I'll post one too...  :)

Life is finally settling down, and I'm back to a good workout routine.

My current schedule is to bike ride a 8 - 12mile ride to the gym (going the
long, roundabout way), then doing a circuit training on the machines (3 sets
of 10 to 15 reps) for about 35  - 40 mins working full body, then biking the
4.5mile ride directly home.   Doing this 3 to 4 days a week, plus doing just
a 15 - 20mile ride at some point, as well as the usual dog walks, etc.

First the first time that I can remember, after taking an extended break
from working out (weights), I've returned full force without experiencing
DOMS.   In the past, that was the hardest part about resuming a workout, the
pain of DOMS would hinder my workouts and my motivation to go again.  I'd do
one workout, then be sore for 5 or more days and wouldn't have the
motibvation to workout again.   Whereas this time the doms has been so
limited that it didn't hinder my return to the gym 2 days later.

I think alot has to do with the pre and post workout cardio - bikeride.
Although, let me tell you, yesterday evening after my workout my legs were
jello when i began my ride home and instead of my average 15mph speed, I
dropped down to 11 for the trip home.   May not get the heart rate up as
high, but a workout is a workout.  :)

Then there's food and weight.   The scale hasn't moved in a few weeks.  And
I've been watching my food intake, but have not been writing it all down.
For instance today, I had a powerbar for breakfst and lunch at a restaurant
1/2 a chicken salad sandwhich on thin sliced sourdough and 1/2 bowl of
french onion soup.   Here it is 5:30pm and I'm not really hungry for dinner
yet, but I'll make something for the family.

I'm not concerned about the weight yet, well see what happens as my body
gets adjusted to this new stuff.

When I switched from Curves to Bally's I really expected to experience the
dreaded DOMS.  Much to my surprise I had nothing but a minor soreness in
the arms after the first workout.  Maybe the biking helped me, too.

Hang in there - the scale will come down.  I was rather bummed this week as
I gained a pound but I know it's from the prednisone I'm taking for the
poison ivy.  It does it everytime.  Some of the side effects are water
retention and increased appetite.  I don't seem to be experiencing the
increased appetite this time but I certainly have the water retention.  My
hands are so swollen I can't wear my rings.

Thanks for the update.  15 miles on the bike 3x a week plus weights plus
a longer ride plus walks, wow!

Sounds great!  So, you're riding like 50-70 miles a week?  That sounds
fantastic.  I'm more than a few steps behind you as far as getting back into
the exercise, but I sure want to.  I would think after the initial flux of
water weight, you'll start to see definite changes in weight.  Good Job!
