That (I mean about the math, not the compliment :-) ) occurred to me
as well, but I wasn't inclined to change the spreadsheet. It doesn't
really make that much difference. I don't really care how well the
numbers add up. It's worse if I drink wine, as it has calories that
aren't accounted for by any of the three macronutrients.
Re consistency: I don't think I'm all that consistent, since I give
in to temptation all the time when at parties and such, but I'm very
good at getting back on track. I think this is partly because I don't
consider it a failure when I do splurge and don't beat myself up over
it. I just view it as all part of my overall lifestyle. For example,
I ate lots all last weekend at my niece's wedding and the weekend
before when up at Brown, but I'm now back to 149, my weight before
those two events. Quite possibly if I hadn't done all that eating I'd
be at 147 or 148 today, but that doesn't really matter in the grand
scheme of things. I'd like to get down to 145 sometime, and I assume
that I will. But once I'm there my goal is just to remain in the
145-150 range. So if I run over it, like I did after last weekend,
I'll take steps to get back into it again, as I have.

At least you have a good excuse for numbers not adding up if you drink
a lot of wine that day. :)

That's a pretty sane approach, if you gained weight, the only rational
thing to do now is to lose it...
