Hi folks,
Haven't dropped in much lately, but came back from the doctor
a while ago and thought I'd update you.  Thought I've put a few
pounds back on (old habits, new stresses), my numbers are
getting better.  Since November:

Cholesteral went from 226 (183+43) to 199 (156+43)
Triglycerides   from 205 to 148 <--Major woohoo!
Blood pressure  from 148/96  to 135/84 (on this visit, 122/82
last week, it varies a lot)
Fat percent from 31.5 to 26.5
Weight from 255 to 238 (+/- 5 pounds pr day)

So, on the right track, though I wish the train was faster.  I'm
dealing with a pulled neck muscle, shoulder arthritis )or
something) and tendonitis in (of all places) my left index
finger, so my workouts have slowed.

Anyway, carry on.

Your numbers are looking great!  Slow and easy is much better - hang in
there.

Thanks!  Actually, minor correction: HDL (good) cholesteral
went from 35 (too low) to 43, which is within standards.

I had my annual blood work and other tests recently.  My total cholesterol
was 165.  I don't have the other numbers with me but they were all within a
very healthy range.  I'm waiting for the next bone density scan to see if
the exercise and medication has shown any improvement.  Brittle bones are
my major health problem but we've been able to stop the loss with
medication alone.  I'm hoping the added exercise improves the condition.  I
don't have full blown osteoporosis but do have osteopenia.

That's good!  My mother had brittle bones in her later years
and once broke two bones in her back just by driving to the
doctor's office and hitting a pothole.

Keep up the weight-bearing exercise!

Those are great improvements in the numbers in terms of health - blood
pressure from high to normal, and cholesterol almost to the normal
range.  The weight loss will come gradually - but look at the fat
percent changes already!  A -5 percent body fat change is great!

Thanks!  I'm still pretty disgusted with weight progress
through.  I have gotten much stronger, but still carrying an
extra 40 pounds of disgusting fat.
