You sound great, Angie!
It was very enjoyable for me to learn how to eat right. I learned I
didn't *have* to have butter. Foods with lots of flavor like pesto with
its good fat taste so much better to me now. I'll throw fruit into any
meal I make now. I have flaxseed meal three times a day. I learned to
*love* nuts (maybe a little too much :)) Something you might like to try
are the Wasa crispbreads. They're low in calories and full of fiber. I
can make a pretty nice tuna sandwich with them.
I lost almost all my weight by walking! I wish there was a gym closer
than 22 miles away from me. Being able to go out the door to walk
whenever the spirit moves makes it easy for me to get my exercise in.
I learned so much from reading asd, using fitday.com (briefly, before I
made my own spreadsheets) and Krista's site.
Keep up the good work and keep learning. The journey is half the fun if
you let it be.

Thanks Laurie. I am walking everyday. No matter what. I started of walking a
mile then went to 1.5 miles and now I am at 2 miles my next goal is 3 miles.
I am also working on a walking program which I started on wed morning of
last week I walk 15 min's outside for the first week and then the first day
of the second week I add 5 mins until I can walk for 30 min's with out
stopping and with out getting tired. I have been taking my dog witth me.
Also starting Wed morning I will be working out at the gym in my
complex. I'm going to do that twice a week. (on my days off). I'm back to
biking took a few days of because of my TOM. But it's pretty much over so I
biked to work this morning and it took me 15 mins.
I try and learn as much as I can about healthy eating. I have started
weight watchers again. I t will take me some time to get used to counting
the points again. And eating a certian amount I made good foo choices today
and am proud of that. I gave up bagels and and croissants today, because I
don't want to waist the points on them. I have now gone 13 days without
junk food and 7 days without any diet pop (caffiene) Also I have gone 17
days with out ice capp's .
My goal is to be sugar free and caffiene free by July 21/04 thats when I
go back to my doctors. It will be a month and a half at that point. okay
thats it for now weigh in is tomorrow I will let you know if all this work
has paid off or not.

I don't know what kind of diet you're on these days, but croissants are
made from a very fatty dough, so you should probably quit those first.
Bagels have little or no fat in them, but croissants are loaded
with butter. I watched my ex-husband make bagels, croissants, and
various pastries for a commercial bakery that delivered to several
supermarket chains and chain bakery shops.
Croissants are made like this: mix dough, let rise. Roll out, spread
butter on it, fold in half, roll out, spread butter on it. Repeat
the folding and buttering several times, then form into croissants.
So you've got a LOT of layered butter in there.
(At one point the bakery tried substituting margerine instead of
butter, but the margerine tended to largely leak out while baking,
but the butter stays in the dough)
After watching various filled danish being made, I haven't wanted
to eat one again *ever*. Watching them scoop up double handfuls of
cheese filling or fruit filling and plop blobs of them on the danish
dough just looked so disgusting that I lost the urge forever.

high in points and will become a once in awhile treat for me.
